"Clean and spacious room, equipped in fridge, coffee machine and separate lounge. Friendly 24/7 concierge, always very helpful. It took some walking around, like in a maze, to find the room. If you have mobility issues you should mention it before you book a room. Breakfast very nice , a lot of options and freshly prepared foods. Swimming pool good , sauna and steam good, jacuzzi could use a good cleaning , well equipped gym, overall leisure facilities good. We purchased a late check out but got woken up by cleaners at 10am. The check out system should be a bit more clearer and faster, to avoid queuing just to drop the key cards at the desk. You can tell it’s an older hotel and may need some upgrades but overall a good weekend away in a lovely peaceful area."

"The staff were lovely! I was surprised there was no tea or coffee making facilities in my room & the nice staff on reception gave me a kettle & supplies to use. It was very annoying that there was nowhere near my bed to charge my phone or iPad while I used it. There’s only a 3 pin plug socket under the TV, a distance from the bed head! This morning the workers arrived! They made such a noise outside my window erecting scaffolding. I was trying to work & couldn’t hear myself think, or the online video link, so couldn’t complete my assignment. It would have been nice if I’d been told there would be noisy construction workers outside of my room & I could have rescheduled important online work, or perhaps not booked to stay there!?"

"Beautiful property located in Chilwack, just outside the main Southampton area. The property is well maintained with well appointed rooms and amenities. Our rooms were spacious and bright, even with being located on the 1st floor. We had opted for the breakfast included rate, and thankful we were for the choice. Lovely tea, coffee, fruit, pastries, cereal as well as hot items. The hotel itself is a little outside the city centre, so a taxi is highly recommended for about 15 quid. We headed back into the city centre last night for a couple for a couple of drinks and food at the Scholars Arms. Again, great experience. Remember, you have to order at the bar as there is no table service. One single complaint about the hotel, if I may, our bed was not comfortable at all. It was like sleeping on the box spring only, as the mattress was either not existent or needed to be replaced. Otherwise, lovely!!"
