"If you are going to the Ziggo dome I'd highly recommend staying at this hotel. Lovely staff, huge beds, funky bathroom, lots of amenities in the room plus a really useful shop in the lobby. Didn't have the breakfast but did visit the Rhythms bar and the food was good there. Short walk to the metro train stop, easy to get to from Schiphol airport. Any issues we had were dealt with quickly and by very friendly staff. Would happily return."

"Overall a cozy, comfortable stay, but rigid policies & night staff need improvement Overall, Via Hostel is a really nice, cozy, and comfortable place to stay. I especially appreciated having an all-girls room option as a solo traveler, and I didn't mind staying in a hostel environment at all. However, guests should be aware that food options nearby are very limited—there are no supermarkets close by and nearby restaurants close early (around 10 PM). Since people stay out late in Amsterdam, this is tricky. My main issue was with the night staff and kitchen policy. I bought takeaway food and asked reception about fridge access. A new receptionist working that afternoon kindly told me that although the kitchen technically closes at midnight, staff can open it briefly so I could grab my food. However, when I returned at 2 AM, a different night receptionist (who seemed like he’d been there a while) was extremely rigid, rude, and berating when I asked to fetch my food. He kept repeating "rules are rules" and refused to use basic common sense. Eventually, another receptionist stepped in, explained that the afternoon guy was new and had made a mistake, and made a quick exception so I could grab my food. While I appreciate the supportive staff member who helped me, the interaction was unnecessarily frustrating. Given the lack of late-night dining nearby, management should reconsider the kitchen lock-out policy or move a guest fridge to an accessible area!"

"The property was perfectly fine and in a great location just outside of the train station and close to a taxi stand and public transportation hub. Check-in and out were quick and painless, and they held my luggage for me on the last day. The convenience store in the lobby was a nice touch, and though I didn't eat at the restaurant other colleagues at the event said it was pretty good. The room was enormous and the armchair and reading lamp were a great touch as was the big, full-sized wall mirror. The water in the shower was hot and they had good counter space around the sink for toiletries. The wifi was free but a little slow and glitchy while the closest outlet to a mirror for hair tools was on the other side of the room. Inconvenient, but survivable. However, the room was only superficially clean (with white curtains that had no chance of hiding how filthy they were) and in the 10cm wide nook between the mirror and the wall was a whole pile of dirt and hair, presumably because it was too small to roll the vacuum into. Also, the room was an okay temperature in the day but absolutely freezing in the evening and overnight. I tried turning up the temperature on the wall thermostat but it made no difference. I piled the duvets from both beds on top of me in order to stop shivering. At home, I keep my bedroom at 16/17 degrees for sleep which is what is comfortable for me (I'm from the north!), so it was measurably colder than that even with the thermostat set to 22."

"Excellent selection for a week of travel. We were very satisfied with the cleanliness and condition of the hotel as well as the free breakfast. The access to public train, tram and bus transit is excellent, and the prices were reasonable. The lobby was comfortable and inviting at night."
