"I was recommended to stay here and I'm very glad that I did. The hotel dates from the colonial era, and since then had been the choice of many dignitaries, sports and movie stars, yet it is still priced well within reach of a Western salary. The food is excellent (I sampled only the dinner and breakfast buffets). The staff are particularly attentive - Ivoni, the customer relations manager, gets special mention because she went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was as good as it could be."

"The hotel room we stayed in was on the 5th floor, overall it was fairly clean, but the carpet was fairly dirty, definitely needs a good clean or changing. Did have issues with the tv picture freezing 3 of 4 nights we stayed, mentioned it to reception the first two nights, they sent the maintenance man around who had a look at the pictures and said it’s was the WiFi drop outs and couldn’t do anything, and left, Breakfast was average, nothing outstanding, even though a good choice of western and Asian dishes to choose from. On the last night we requested an Asian vegetarian breakfast pack to take away and help with the luggage to be brought down for 6am as we were checking out at 6am and we would be leaving by 6:05-610 via taxi, But when we arrived at the reception desk 5:50 to check out and enquired about the luggage and breakfast, we got blank looks, So when reminded what was arranged the night before and they found the paperwork confirming the request, the acted on the requests, By 6:15 we finally received the luggage and the breakfast packs which annoyed the taxi driver who was waiting since 6:00, When we finally settled down at the airport to have the breakfast, we were deeply disappointed that we got a small cheese sandwich, pastry, water and banana definitely not Asian vegetarians, considering what we paid for full breakfast, it was deeply disappointing."

"We ended 12 days in Sri Lanka here and it was easily the best-equipped hotel of the whole trip. The 53-metre rooftop infinity pool on the tenth floor is the standout: ocean on one side, city skyline on the other, and spectacular sunsets over the sea. Come up in the late afternoon. The room was excellent — very comfortable king bed, a bathroom with both shower and bathtub, and a huge TV. Everything felt new and well maintained, and despite the city-centre setting on Marine Drive, noise was not a problem. Several restaurants and bars on site meant plenty of choice without leaving the building, and the food was good across the board. Very good value too for this standard of hotel. A perfect last stop before flying home, and it would work just as well at the start of a trip."

"We had a wonderful stay here and really enjoyed the property. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and very well stocked with everything we needed. The swimming pool was a great bonus and was very well maintained. We especially appreciated having a fitness center with a fitness trainer available in the mornings to offer pointers and guidance. The location was also very convenient, with easy tuk-tuk rides to the mall and Port City.The host was very easy to deal with and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. It was also great to have someone onsite who was available to assist with anything we needed during our stay. Whenever we noticed an issue, the building staff was quick to respond and take care of it.There was some light construction activity since this is a brand-new building, but surprisingly, it did not disturb us at all. We had a very quiet and relaxing stay.Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would happily stay here again. The combination of a comfortable apartment, great amenities, convenient location, and a responsive host and staff made this a great place to stay. We would definitely recommend it to others visiting the area."
