"Decorating is very tired. Door handle not working. Requires key to lock door. Adequate products in room. Hard pillows. Bed was ok. TV remote not working despite changing batteries. Very good food and breakfast"

"We had an amazing stay. Bob and Liz were lovely and friendly hosts, provided a really nice breakfast and a nice, tasteful welcome package in the fridge. The authentic cottage was a lovely and peaceful place to stay, well renovated and well accomodated. As is the case in most cottages, some of the beams and ceilings are quite low, so watch your head. The walks on the grounds between the bluebells are an absolute must in spring. In the nearby area the places to visit are Plaw Hatch Farm, Bluebell Vineyards and Kew Wakehurst. We fully recommand this cottage if you like a nice and peaceful holiday right in the middle of nature."

"We had a wonderful stay. Hosts were amazing and so welcoming. Everywhere was lovely and fresh and clean. Plenty of space to park. Such a peaceful location. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back sonetime. Thank you"

"Beautiful building but lack of attention to detail. Upon arrival in spa, went to make a cup of hot tea and there was no sugar or stir sticks or spoons. Wanted to enjoy the hot tub before massage and it was like a barely warm bath plus the jets were spraying up at your face so you couldn’t sit without getting water in the face. Two lockers didn’t work. The massage staff was friendly but it was definitely fluff and buff- not much pressure so that was a disappointment. The main restaurant was fully booked and only time we could eat at the casual bar was 9 pm- so we had no dinner. Spa suite was spacious and well designed but the lights didn’t work and the hairdryer back piece kept falling off. Not impressed."

"Lindsey and Richard run a wonderful B&B with a cooked to order breakfast with farm fresh eggs. The rooms are spotless and well taken care of during the stay by Lindsey. The area is quiet at night for a good sleep, the yard and gardens lovely, and an excellent pub close by. We really hope to be back one day."

"The property was as the photos described and it was an absolutely stunning location. The suit of armour was really cool! Despite the suggestions below we would definitely come and stay again, the whole place was really relaxing and comfortable and felt like being in an episode of Jonathan Creek."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay."

"The property was exactly as described. We wanted a holiday deep in the countryside with lots of gardens and National Trust properties to visit. The WiFi was fine in the house but a bit iffy in the area. Not the hosts fault!My only criticism would be that the mattress was a bit too soft for my comfort and that the kitchen could do with more implements. "
