"This place is not what the reviews have said. I feel reviews have been manipulated perhaps with one off reviews and not with people who frequently travel. As soon as you get to sandy beach resort the hotel is very tired. Unbeknownst to us there are 2 different sections to the hotel. Unfortunately we booked the old side magnolia. Had we not prepaid we would have left. The staff were extremely kind and efficient. They moved us (an upgrade we had to pay for) to a better unit. It too was tired. But no where near the condition of the previous room. A tired unit we can handle, dirt for 40+years no. Now, had we know this also was in a drug dealing and poor area of MB. We would not have stayed here. Finding out after the fact there is a lot of violence and thefts. This is not the resorts fault, but it should be noted. We did like to walk and on beach is fine. But if you stray off this to walk on sidewalk there is a drug dealer and ladies of the evening on every corner. The pool area is tired. There are hot tubs and pools and they are in working condition but again no maintenance to old tiles or rust on pipes etc sand from the beach was in pool and not once did we witness it cleaned for 2 weeks. The little kids pool was under construction with no construction ever happening while we were there. The building is smoke free. However, when you have your balcony door open all you can smell is the weed from the lower units hotboxing you in your unit. We ate a lot of Doritos "
