"It’s a lovely hotel in a lovely location. Receptionist was lovely, I didn’t catch her name but she was a lady from Mexico and she was friendly. The room is small and has too much furniture for the size and it was very hot. It had a mobile air con but the first night we didn’t sleep. Breakfast was good but overprice for what it is We had a few drinks in the bar and it was very overprice. "Lovely room. Plenty of space and very comfortable bed!! Staff were very friendly at check in and check out and answered any questions we had. The hotel is within easy reach of the centre of Stratford. Especially within a short walk to the RSC Theatre."

"The building is tired , stair carpet threadbare. A shame as it’s a beautiful building. Needs TLC. We found the staff ok but inexperienced, they need more training. Our room was clean and comfortable. Gardens stunning. At breakfast there was a lot of people without food as they said they had run out. "

"We were really disappointed on arrival as the hotel was covered in scaffolding and the entrance looked much more like a 1970s multi-storey carpark than a 4* hotel. The stairs (the lift was out of order), reception area and room were very dated. The soundproofing in the bathroom was non-existent (my wife could hear everything next door). Having said that the beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok."

"Really enjoyed our little overnighter here. Absolutely stunning building. Nice size room with high ceiling in gorgeous Tudor style. Bed comfy nice bedding. Read some bad reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Yes the carpet is a little old and the chair by the window but it’s all part of the charm. Large modern bathroom. Only negative was a little dust on the windowsills nothing to ruin a lovely comfy night sleep and lovely staff at check in too"
