"The room was OK, but finding the hotel and finding the room within the hotel were both very difficult. They also asked for an additional card checking fee before check-in, though thankfully they waived this when we queried it. The remote check in made the start of the stay very stressful, but once we were in it was fine. There are some lovely period features in the property, but some of the paneling is actually wallpaper!"

"We had a fantastic stay at the Hilton at Gatwick’s South Terminal. We loved the room - the bed was massive and perfectly comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean with good water pressure and temperature in the shower. The staff were very friendly too, but the highlight for us was the breakfast.
At breakfast there was a huge selection of breads, pastries, cereals, nuts and seeds, yoghurts and fruit, hot and cold drinks, cooked food and we especially appreciated the deli with salads, cheeses and hummus. Plenty of vegetarian/vegan options with many milk alternatives too. We’d stay here again for the breakfast alone! Dishes that ran out were quickly replenished and the dining area had a great vibe too.
Some guests seemed not to have realised that there’s no need for a shuttle bus or taxi to/from this hotel as it’s actually connected to South Terminal through an indoor walkway, which you can find on the 1st floor of the airport parking. Look out for the signs with the Hilton logo when arriving at the airport. This hotel’s location is super convenient and we’d highly recommend staying here.
We didn’t use the room service, but appreciated that it was an option when we arrived late at night after a full 24 hours of travelling. The only point perhaps worth mentioning is that the listing mentions the inclusion of robes/slippers but that wasn’t to be found in our room. We booked a standard room, so perhaps that’s only available in the more expensive rooms? "
"An aging property that is showing it.....
No housekeeping during my 3 night stay.
Internet in lounge a bit erratic.
Buffet breakfast was good and evening meal excellently presented and enjoyable......customer service was Louis deserves special mention - first rate....!!
Overall an enjoyable stay."
"The room was very spacious even though there were 2 x double beds. Lots of towels and toiletries. Staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was lovely with loads of choice."
"Great location, room was clean and spacious,
Staff were amazing and helpful. Bar staff were amazing great to sit and have a chat with while having a drink."
"Incredible, affordable, beyond our expectations.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights for his birthday. I didn’t have the biggest budget so when I saw the excellent price at Holiday Inn for what looked like a great hotel, I was somewhat sceptical-
However, our stay was perfect. From the moment we arrived the staff were extremely pleasant, we came early to leave our luggage instead of dragging it through london and they were very happy to assist and hold on to it until we checked in later. When we returned we were checked in swiftly.
The staff offered us great advice on transport to/from london. The bar staff are very friendly, the cleaners are polite and will knock and ask if you need anything in the afternoon- The service is 10/10.
The room was massive, spotless and well-stocked. They use eco-friendly shampoos / body wash. There’s an ironing board and hair dryer, free teas and sugar etc. The huge tv has the ability to cast stuff from your phone and many channels available. Theres a telephone with access to 24/7 room service. I’m an extremely cold person and the heating comes on fast :) You also have full control over the thermostat.
Overall the whole experience was excellent for the price, despite having a small budget it felt as though we were staying in a 5 star hotel that would generally be wildly over budget. It really exceeded our expectations and we plan to return again later this year after we’ve saved up for another london trip :)
