I made my choice on location and price. This area can be expensive and this hotel was on the lower end. As a solo female traveler I prefer to stay at hotels with inside hallways, especially if arriving after dark. Luckily the staff and other guests were friendly and helpful. I was quite comfortable after settling in. Everything was spotless, the bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast (including the breakfast sandwich) was spot on!
When I go to Massachusetts I always stay at the supermarket 8 in sturbridge, the rooms are clean, the staff are very polite and if I have a problem they take care of it. I highly recommend you to stay there.
This place has a lot going for it:
- clean
- real soap
- real shower gel / shampoo / conditioner
- fluffy towels
- solid pool
- aesthetically nice outside
- balcony with view
- comfy bed
- well placed mirror
- super high ceiling
- modern decor
- solid a/c
- large-ish mini fridge
- lots of tv channels
- multiple decent lighting options
- place to store bag
- bathroom mirror has lights baked in
- coat hooks
The room looked great, but had that old smoking hotel smell. Once the AC was turned on for a bit, the smell cleared up. Nice finishes (granite and chrome) and linens (sheets were a comfy breathable percale). Bed and pillows were comfy. The view from the shared balcony was lovely over the lake, however, the screen had no latch so no sleeping with the door ajar. The room could have been cleaned better. Our socks let us know that the floor was dirty, nooks and corners needed attention. Plenty of parking. Didn't have much staff interaction. The breakfast was gone by 9:15. For what we needed - a place to lay our heads at night - this worked fine. It looks like much work has gone into trying to make this a nice hotel, Just needs a little fine tuning.
Remote agent (via Kiosk) in lobby was annoying. A man stood behind the desk while we were told to use the Kiosk.
The shower pressure was only fair.
Breakfast was fair.
Large room.
This is our second time staying here. We stayed here the same time last year, with no issues. The property is clean, the staff is very polite and helpful. Our only issue is that when my daughter went to take her shower (at 6:30 am) she had no hot water. Then, when I went to take my shower at 8 am, there was no water at all. My daughter and I both tried for over 5 minutes to get the tub faucet to work. The bathroom si k had cold water, but if you turned it to the right or left, the water stopped. We called down to the front desk and she said she would send maintenance up. We kept trying. It suddenly came on, and it was like the water had been completely shut off because it spouted out brown water. We let it run for a couple of minutes and then tried the bot water, which worked. We called the front desk back to let them know.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised! Compared to the Super 8 in my town and other super 8’s I had major concerns when I had to book this room. (I had booked somewhere else but booked the wrong dates and super 8 was the only place left close by the event I was going to) The only thing that I could possibly say negatively was the bathroom door didn’t latch all the way but stayed shut enough for privacy so it really wasn’t a problem. I actually forgot to let the front desk know. The balcony was really nice to sit on and have my morning coffee or just hang out, there were a bunch of spiders (I’m petrified of them) but that’s an outdoor space so there’s not much that can be done about that. the “breakfast” was a bit disappointing really only choice was waffles, or yogurt . With those things said it was honestly a great place to stay and would definitely stay again. Hoping to book them next year for a week. The room we had was nice, had working mini fridge, the bed was comfortable and I was actually able to sleep. I don’t usually sleep good in hotels/motels. I know I’ve already said this but, this is the nicest/ cleanest and safest super 8 I’ve ever been to. 10/10 would recommend.
