"Decent"

"Decent, unpretentious old school inn, serving a variety of victuals in a rabbit-warren of higgledy piggledy nooks and crannies within an interesting building. 'Rooms' are a selection of annexes to the main pub, and, if mine was anything to go by, well equipped, clean spacious and comfortable. Cheapest stay of this trip, but without question the best. Would definitely recommend and may well come back sometime in the future. "

"What a lovely pub with rooms. The food was lovely, a spicy sweet potato curry. Pity the room was lit by the external pub lighting. The room, No4, needs black out curtains/blinds to reduce the light levels. Lovely ambiance and style"

"This Biulding oozes history and charm. While it is clearly a little tired and basic on the accommodation, which is reflected in the price. The breakfast was exceptional and amazing value! (it was inclusive). All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. "Horndon on the Hill is a picturesque village and the Bell is a delightful pub and hotel. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet and in a pretty setting. My only gripe was breakfast which can work out really expensive. Toast and jam is £4.10, a 'Variety' pack cereal £2.50 and tea £2.50. My breakfast cost £17.10 and it could have been more."
