"Size and location of property was good, but owner knew the oven was broken since he text me minutes before I was able to check in and did not have it repaired or have an alternative to bake with. We were left with a make due kind of attitude. For the cost, there should have been something there to bake with especially since we were staying 4 nights and a party of 8. "I really wanted to enjoy my stay in Tahoe, but Evo Hotel made that impossible. The room and bathroom were dirty — and not just a little dusty. Visibly unclean in a way that made me uncomfortable touching surfaces. The bare minimum expectation when staying at a hotel is that the room has been properly cleaned before arrival. That was not the case here. On top of that, the AC was not working. Being stuck in a warm, uncomfortable room when you’re paying Tahoe prices is completely unacceptable. It directly impacted our ability to sleep and relax, which is the whole point of a hotel stay. The noise from upstairs was constant and disruptive no matter what time it was, making it even harder to get any rest. I called the front desk multiple times to get help and not once did anyone pick up. Not once. There is no excuse for that. If you’re running a hotel, someone should always be available to assist guests dealing with legitimate complaints. For a property in one of the most beautiful destinations in California, I don’t think I will be returning."
