"We stayed in Villa C and it was fantastic. Very spacious rooms and a fantastic semi outdoor private onsen bath and shower. Lots of amenities provided to take as needed. We didn’t see any people at all at the property. The beds were big and soft. You do hear a lot of trains, however we used the supplied ear plugs and slept fine. Paid parking on the property. "Overall, the stay was disappointing. On the positive side, the onsen was lovely and the attendant on the ladies side was very helpful. That said, nothing is available until 3 and you have to rush to make an on-site reservation for the open air area after 3 (there was not an option to reserve prior to 3). The front desk staff provided inconsistent information on check in and was initially unhelpful in storing luggage that did not fit in the automated storage machine. Bottom line, do not arrive prior to the stated check-in time. Additionally, the room was on par with a low cost motel. The beds were very hard and the pillows flat ( only 1 per bed provided). The shower was a pre-fab very small stall that looked like a mobile home shower. The balcony, though advertised as ocean view, overlooked a bus parking lot and busy street with a view of the water behind the noisy areas. The balcony and tub on the balcony were likewise very small. The room and facilities were simply not worth the price point. If you are looking for a higher end stay in Atami, look elsewhere."

"Breakfast dishes in the trays were not hot, almost cold. Good selection of foods but worrisome that not up to temperature Rooms although nice, a bit noisy . You can hear neighbors foot’s steps and someone using a digital keyboard constantly… very annoying. Also the onsen (hot tub) was not hot. Had to ask the staff to turn up the temperature… The Wagyu restaurant was very disappointing , since did not have a reservation, they seated us in a corner ( thought we were in time out) facing a wall … even though they were regular tables available…"

"Suite with bunk beds was great, although room wasn’t super clean. Bathroom sink had layer of grime and visible debris on carpets, couch had a rip in fabric (was difficult to report this to hotel). Nice balcony with room, rooftop terrace was beautiful, onsen great! Check in was a bit limited. You need to add your passport info the day before/prior to arrival, get QR code and code for door. Then on arrival, use iPad scan QR code to talk remotely to a person to verify your id. That seemed to only be available from 3-10pm, so don’t arrive too late. Free drinks, snacks, soft serve icecream between 5-9pm (my kids loved)! Not a ton of restaurants near hotel but did have a family mart across the street. "

"This hotel was fine for the price, and would probably be willing to stay here again, but this is not what I would call a "nice hotel." The whole house is quirky, feels a little unfinished, and the walls are thin so you can hear people moving around in the house at all hours. Our beds were comfortable, and it was nice that the room had a mini fridge, microwave, and sink. There is also a shared kitchen. Upon arrival, we were charged an extra 200 yen per person per day for the hotel tax, and an extra 300 yen per person per day for access to the onsen. We were fine paying this, but it was a little bit of a surprise, especially because there was no alternative way to bathe/shower. The onsen was the highlight of this hotel for us. It is a private bath that comfortably fit two of us, which was romantic and relaxing. "
