Grand Hotel des Lles Borromees is a wonderfully elegant hotel set lakeside with beautiful grounds and gardens. My wife and I extended our stay from 3 to 5 nights - expensive, but well worth it. The young woman at the reservation desk who greeted us was lovely and helpful. Her suggestions for the day and where to have lunch in Arona were most enjoyable. In the evening, a gentleman at the desk directed us to a restaurant nearer the hotel for dinner, not near the lake. Our fault for not being specific. All in all, a good choice for a close location to the airport.

The Lugano Dante hotel is a great hotel, the location can't be beaten, steps from the funicular and right by the city center, we walked everywhere. This hotel is very generous in terms of taking of customers, free drinks in room mini bar, coffee, espresso, apples, waters in the lobby, make one feel so much like home. The staff is attentive and they maintain the property well-kept. This is a simple yet clean hotel with all your basics. And, it is literally a few steps away from the main train station as well as from the border crossing to Como, Italy. It offers a strategic location getting the best of both worlds: Switzerland and Italy.

We stayed at this hotel twice - it was a stopping point for us on a Zurich to Tuscany vacation and back. The hotel is clean, modern and the staff is friendly. If you have children, they provide rollaway beds that are comfortable but expect them to crowd the room, because the rooms although well appointed, are small. This was my second stay at this hotel within 2 months. I like the location in the middle of a (working class) residential area. It's like living with the locals, away from the commercial areas. Over the weekends I experienced some noise coming from a banquet building were parties were held but nothing loud, nothing violent, just people having fun. An affordable, clean and convenient hotel in a beautiful town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The train as well as a Milan airport shuttle makes the hotel easily accessible without a car.

Excellent experience right near great restaurants and the ferry boats were easy to access. It was well worth the price.
