"We arrived 4 hours before checkin & franco at reception was warm welcoming helpful & organised our luggage into room when was ready & the next morning was just as proffesional and warm & friendly couldnot of asked for better service.. great hotel in great place .. wish i had stayed here on an early visit .. high reccomended it "
"Incredible sandstone cave bedroom . Spacious and atmospheric. Cool and quiet. Jacuzzi tub.
Delicious breakfast with many local products. Excellent coffee.
Staff were bright and cheerful. Big shout out to Val who went above and beyond in tying my dates together.
The spa is a real treat at the end of a day discovering the many levels of Matera. The staff there too are excellent. Thank you Jenny for the wonderful massage!
This place is uniquely positioned on the quiet side of the Sassi. Almost all of the rooms have a balcony or terrace with dramatic views. It’s ancient history and you’re cocooned within it. Unique.

Parking is free and easy to find. The hotel picks you up and takes you into the city.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. On the day of our departure we needed to leave very early and they had a full breakfast ready for us and gave us a ride back to our car with no problem at all.
The location at the edge of the cliff is absolutely stunning and the views are unparalleled.
The rooms themselves are unique and very well appointed. The bathroom in our room needs to be repainted and the loft where the kids slept got very hot. But other than that we can't find a single fault with this lovely spot in a beautiful city!
