"Where to begin? Let's start with "beyond spectacular"...our first thoughts as we walked through the door. This is truly a little slice of magical paradise...rustic and refined at the same time. The property is very thoughtfully imagined, it seamlessly blends with the bounty of the nature within which it presides, unassuming yet perfect. I believe we were the first to book even before there were any reviews, however I just knew by the selection of photos and careful description that it was going to be special, and it was. Chris and Luisa are very gracious and super-attentive hosts, however what differentiates them from most, is that they also create an expectation from their guest to live up to the standard that is being offered. This is not common and we liked it. It's the differentiating factor from most vacation rentals, in that it makes it immediately feel like home. The attention to detail: the hand soap, the shortbread cookies, the locally roasted coffee, the chocolates, the luxurious white towels, the wood ready for a cozy fire, the high-end appliances, the soaker tub, comfy beds, floors clean enough that you feel like walking barefoot, the front-entry room which serves as excellent storage for your luggage/coats/boots etc, modern heating and climate control etc. But above all, the architectural design...every window lends itself to the beauty of Skye. We would surely return in a heartbeat!"

"Great communication with host. We arrived very late and checkin was easy! House was just as described. Front window faces view of sea and harbor. Lots of amenities in the home which very appreciative of. Great location to explore popular sites and hikes. Very quiet and relaxing."

"Beautiful country manor and grounds but once you turn off the main road, it’s a rough single-track road for quite a bit. Not something I would like to traverse at night driving back and forth into Portree for dinner. But, the good news is there is no need to because the food, both dinner and breakfast, are sublime. Our room on the attic level required a climb up two flights and was a bit small and Spartan but comfortable nevertheless."

"Travelled with my family and this was an excellent choice, stayed at the private room and was surprised at the lack of noise from the outside, very good acoustics. Highly recommend and the private bathroom was a plus. Very close to several tourists destinations."

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The setting is spectacular, the views are incredible, and the grounds are lovely. We really enjoyed taking the time to explore the property. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very well appointed. We especially appreciated the unlimited water, hot chocolate, tea, and Nespresso pods. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was wonderful, and having electrical outlets on every wall was surprisingly convenient. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and the breakfast could not have been better. The staff truly made our stay special. Everyone was friendly and attentive, but we would particularly like to mention Cat and Frazier at the front desk. They were exceptionally welcoming, accommodating, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The magnificent setting, comfortable accommodations, excellent food, and outstanding staff made this a truly memorable stay. We would gladly recommend this hotel."

"Great staff from check-in to the in-house bar to housekeeping. All were very professional and helpful. Breakfast was standard British breakfast. Bar and restaurant were very good. Which is nice since the hotel is a ways from other places."

"Loch Eyre House is a charming and private bed & breakfast. The fact that it's 7 miles from the traffic of Portree is a big plus-- at Loch Eyre House you have quiet and a beautiful view of Loch Eyre. The guest lounge is a comfortable place to read or play cards if the weather isn't great. Our room had everything we needed, plus a balcony porch with table and chairs. David & Lynn are great communicators who give wonderful advice and make delicious breakfasts. We enjoyed our 4-night stay so much, and we're very glad we chose Loch Eyre House for our base for exploring Skye!"
