"One would need a transport to go around from this property. It is a condominium that is very near the City Square but one is unable to walk there due to the Customs building. The room was clean, though there are some spots which need more cleaning. It was strange that the plates, bowls, forks, spoons and cups are all laid out on the table. "Nice hotel with nice room. Really like the microwave in the room as well as plates and cutleries. Room is spacious and hotel is near CIQ and mall, but you need to jaywalk there unless you take the hotel shuttle bus. Overall nice place for a short getaway. Thank you! "

Good location and cleanliness

"Brought my parents for a short getaway. Love the environment, cleanliness and the friendliness of the staffs except for an incident where my mum asked the reception for directions and was told to open her maps and follow the GPS which I find it rude. As elderly parents, she asked as she was not sure but only to get that kind of response. Other than that, the stay was good."

"My recent stay from 10th to 11th May 2025 at Amari Hotel Johor Bahru was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and professional—special thanks to the team who checked us in for their excellent service. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a Deluxe King Room, which made our stay even more comfortable. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well-maintained—kudos to Mr. Sharul for outstanding housekeeping! Every detail was perfect. The hotel’s prime location was a huge plus—just a short distance from City Square and Komtar JBCC Mall, making shopping and dining super convenient. Thanks to the entire team for making our stay memorable. We’ll definitely be back for another short getaway with family! Keep up the fantastic work! "

"The room is clean and the hotel is connected to a small shopping mall. Walking distance to Chinatown/Little India. Most of the shops and restaurants nearby don`t open until 9-10am. Early breakfast hard to find."
