"Lovely place with a comfortable, pleasant, nicely decorated room and a comfortable bed. The bathroom and toilets are shared, however with only 2 other rooms. The kitchen facilities are excellent, with good quality equipment. The place is scrupulously clean. It is close to public transport. The breakfast was fantastic, even for someone who is gluten free. "‘This is not a hotel’ is the first thing the hostess told us when she first called. The villa indeed is their own home and this is made very clear during our stay. The hostess treated our kids as a strict schoolteacher and to top it all off at the end of the evening also yelled upstairs that we were playing with the heating, which we were not. In the Summer this place might be nicer with the outside pool but in the winter this would not be suitable for a family vacation. Price and quality do...

"We loved our stay at Effect Lodge. Our room overlooked the back side of the property, including the pool. Great views and an open feel in our large room. The host was so gracious and helpful. She recommended public transportation for our visit to Old Lyon, and it worked out perfectly. She also provided direction in getting our laundry taken care of. In many ways, staying at Effect felt like being at home. Highly recommend this property!"
