Great Place for Events: Peaceful Stay and Excellent Support from Host
During our wedding, we stayed at this property and it exceeded our expectations. The host, Sam, was exceptionally helpful with both the house and the event. The location is peaceful and ideal for a staycation or any event. Highly recommend, thanks to Sam's outstanding support!
Property is beautiful and the location was amazing, but it was definitely not luxury. Not very clean, we had to wash all bedding when we arrived because it smelled bad and looked dirty, also many things were broken.
The house needs some serious maintenance. Many carpets had large stains that would probably come out with a steam cleaner. Glass doors to the dining room were covered in finger prints. Kitchen chair pad was not attached. Kitchen cabinet knob came off in you hand. Stove top knobs are all melted. Need to put a hair dryer in one bathroom. On the plus side there are cooking supplies like sugar, salt, oil and coffee with filters, which is greatly appreciated. Property is lovely and some TLC would make the house much more pleasant.
A family reunion was absolutely ruined. The house is in very poor shape with really awful stained carpeting, uncomfortable beds, garbage left in kitchen bins, and vomit splattered on the downstairs toilet. There was blood on the light switches and a bloody towel left in the bathroom. The floors were so sticky with lots of crumbs. When the host was contacted by my husband, he would speak to him by phone. With me, (as a woman) he wouldn’t respond to Vrbo messages and hung up on me stating that I was talking “stupid” to him.. All of the photos on the Vrbo listing showcased lovely furniture and when we arrived in person, the furniture was very old and mismatched loooking like pieces collected from garage sales. Nothing was similar to the pictures on the site. In one picture, a lovely soaker tub was shown ;however, in person there was a note stating that it wasn’t hooked up and was for “decorative” value only. Given that it was getting late, we stayed one night (instead of 2) but because the bedding was stained, we bought new pillows and blankets. The coffeemaker wasn’t functional, despite the host assuring us that we could use coffee pods.
When the host was contacted about the lack of cleanliness, he said that he didn’t know who to believe, yet we sent him pictures to prove the state of the house. In the past, we have sought VRBO properties for vacations in Europe and locally within Ontario and have had such good luck. So misleading😖
