River Roost
River Roost is perched hillside, directly across the street from the Little River. Listen to the sounds of the gently rushing water from your private open deck, covered porch, or sun room. There are two private bedrooms, the Master has a King and the second has a Queen bed. Take the stairway down to your own private riverside beach, where you can swim, trout fish, picnic, or just bring some folding chairs and relax. Outside the fully equipped kitchen, there is a covered porch, with a stainless steel propane grill. This is a great location for cycling and the river location is beyond the heavy tubing area, so much more peaceful. Please note that the river access is located directly across the street from the home, so you will need to cross the street to get to the river. Located only a few minutes from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park Entrance, the center of Townsend, and the Wild Laurel Golf Course, where you also enjoy FREE ACCESS to the Swimming Pool and Fitness Center.

We enjoyed our stay, it is a little outdated in bathroom, knob broke. Location was great for us, we loved sitting on the patio and the privacy even though you can see the road you still have ample privacy. It is compact and easy to keep up while there. We didn’t have enough towels, I washed 1/2 xs a day, no garbage bags, just inconveniences for as much as you pay to stay.

Did not stay. I have asthma and this place was disgusting. Should not be on Vrbo. Never have seen property in this shape. Turned keys back in immediately and called host.

Overall property was very nice. The driveway is very narrow and a little steep. House was clean and accurately described except there is not a shower in the downstairs bathroom. The river access is down the road a little bit and not directly across like suggested. We would stay here again if the driveway was wider to make it easier to get in and out.

All in all, we were pleased. However, there were a few issues. Not enough toilet paper, broken recliner, broken stool, no heat downstairs. I did call the property manager and left a message about the heat but got no response.

The advertisement for this listing is extremely misleading. The owners show the ‘cabin’ location (which actually a dated house) as right on the river bed. The river is across the street & access is on someone else’s property. The property has No curtains, so if you like to sleep in the morning you’ll be doing that with the sun. The property hasn’t had a deep clean for quite a while; bathrooms were in need of a good cleaning. The WiFi went out a few times & property manager wasn’t able to fix that.

I think check out t8me should be arond 11 or 12. When your on vacation, u come in from a day of pigeon forge or Gatlinburg, your tired from that long day. So you try cramming the rest of the vacation in before checking out, you are going be slow moving in the morning. Other then thar, we will be returning customers. And the location and being next door to a store, having no privacy is an issue. We will use the same company Dogwood Cabins again , just not that particular one.

There is no heat on main floor, when we used the main floor bathroom the toilet leaked on the floor (I mean not overflow but came from somewhere under it) The property is looking at a camper across the street I think there working on some property there which blocks ur river view
It needs a really good cleaning
I could go on but these are the main issues
It was a very Cold experience

could not have been better.,comfort as good as home . The only thing I would reccomend is a recliner in the den along with an arm chair. An extra light over the counter near the firelace would be nice as well. Everything else could not have been more accomadating. The place was clean and well-furnished beds were very comfortable.I give the Serenity an A+.We had a blast

The mold and mildew in the closets and the sun room ended up making 2 of my family sick. There was dust everywhere. I can live with the spiders but i’m surprised no one had checked and cleaned them up before we arrived. There was no way to hand wash any of the big dishes or counters. Could be a really nice place but needs a major cleaning!

They had games to play the River was absolutely breathtaking I never heard from the company while I was there I left the key 🔑 on the counter so that was nice to not have to be bothered on your vacation I give this place ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There are a lot of "pros" to this property, and only a few "cons" that slightly detract from the overall positive experience. First.. this is NOT actually a river-front property.. the pictures and description were deceiving, and we didn't have access to walk up to the river, as there were "private property" signs and a trailer.
Second... no window blinds?? This was strange, and seemed to be an obvious feature that needed to be addressed.
Third... there were a few "thirds", but I'm going to list one. The bedsheet on one of the beds had hair on it and was evidently not cleaned since the last tenant. Thankfully there was ONE extra set of sheets, but left us concerned about the rest of the bedding.
Still though, the location/street was awesome because it "felt" local and like a river community in Tennessee should. My family and I had a good experience staying here in November, and would stay again, with the hope that our gripes were fixed.

I was thinking it was closer to the water how the pictures was on the add. Also how they made it out to be there was a pool and golf course on the property and still don’t know where the pool and golf course was at. The deck and extra could been cleaned off or leaf blower used on it. But besides this few things it was peaceful stay

Inside of cabin was spotless and cleanliness was perfect! Outside of cabin grounds needs a little tlc and some work done to concrete driveway..only complaint was my car drag on driveway due to big crack in concrete ..everything on the inside was perfect..I would advise a baby gate for upstairs for small children ..but over all experience was good..(A+ rating on your house keeping !)

Very happy with the cabin. Big issue with communication. I emailed a simple question approximately a month before check in and only got a response a few days before. Everything I got via email and the vrbo app about check in only mentioned the address of the property. After a 5 hour drive we get to the property and there's no way for us to get in. They're was no cell service so we had to drive back to where we had service and call. We were then told we had to go to an off site property to pick up a check in packet. I fear that if I hadn't called before 5, we would have been stranded. Could have used a little better cleaning. But other than that the property was great and we were very happy.
