"For context, I was coming into this with western standards, so I did need to consciously temper them. That said, my bed sheets were unclean upon arrival and still had sand on them from the previous guest. I also had a situation where I accidentally booked an extra night due to a scheduling error (I received a booking confirmation that showed me checking out a day earlier than intended due to being in the wrong time zone), and they refused to refund me. They didn’t HAVE to refund me of course - it was my mistake - but the way they handled it certainly didn’t impress me. Instead of being understanding and generous, they decided they’d rather keep my 1,800,000 dong and send me on my way. The rooms are rough around the edges compared to the average western hotel, but that’s to be expected."
