"Underwhelming. This is a very ordinary hotel, despite the hot tubs, pool and spa. The decor is vile, all dull browns with turquoise. In the “Troutbeck” room there is a nasty trip hazard into the bathroom. A stubbed toe was annoying but a cracked skull would have been more so. Tip: if it’s not fixed put a rolled up hand towel down to fill the gap and catch your attention. Pillows were like sandbags and need immediate replacement. The mattress had an uncomfortable lump and was likely in need of replacement too. The hot tub was good, as was the jacuzzi bath. The fridge was handy, and the chairs comfortable enough for a short while. Free parking on site. The building is a maze of corridors and stairs. Regrettably the lift was out of order for the first 24 hours or so. As a walking stick user this was less than ideal. Breakfast was okay but not special. My choice of evening meal, “roast of the day”, was almost inedible. Vegetable selection poor. The wait staff were pleasant but scruffy, in contrast to the smart and highly exuberant maitre’d. It is far from being a gourmet restaurant and there are other places to eat."

"Great staff and very helpful. Good lcoation in proximity to Windermere and Bowness with ample car parking. Room was in the cottage out building and was large and comfortable. Onyl thing that needs to be improved is the cleanliness around things like skirting borads, cobwebs up walls, and the shower base edges where it hadn;t been cleaned for a long time. Breakfast provided is perfect, evening food is ok."

"This hotel is 10/10 the staff the room the restaurant and especially the spa were amazing! we had a very easy check in and our bags bought up to our room. I had notified the hotel it was my boyfriends birthday so we received 3 birthday cards in total from the main hotel W restaurant staff and the spa. We had a lovely relaxing two days stay and will definitely be coming back. Would also like to mention the guest relations manager think his name was Craig but he was amazing and very accommodating when I had a few queries on my bill when checking out."

"We’ve just returned from a wonderful weekend at this stunning lodge in White Cross Bay and we honestly couldn’t have asked for more. The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful — spacious, luxurious, and finished to such a high standard. The photos really don’t do it justice. It feels even more impressive in person.Everything was spotless, cosy, and perfectly set up for a relaxing family stay. We had grandparents, parents, and a child with us, and it suited everyone perfectly.Communication with the owner was brilliant from start to finish. All the information was clear, simple, and easy to follow, which made the whole experience completely stress‑free.We’ve stayed in the Lakes many times, but this lodge is truly something special. We’d go back in a heartbeat."
