Fantastic views of the beach and great location
I stayed at Las Ranitas with my four children and found the experience disappointing. The location was fantastic with a great view of the beach but apart from that I find it hard to say very many nice things about it. The room had ants along one wall and right on the bed. There was no TV in our room which was fine but the lighting was so dull that it was impossible to read so after 6pm we had to use the torches on our iPhones to read. We ate at the restaurant on three occasions and each time had to ask for a menu and to place an order. The room only had one single chair in it so we actually had to sit on our beds during the day which i did not like. I was very disappointed in our stay as the accommodation was no cheap but i felt that all you got was a good view. I would definitely not stay there again or recommend it to friends. I feel that they call it an eco retreat so they do not have to provide anything. Even the toilets you could not put paper in and they hardly flushed and the yoga was 200 pesos per person.
Great location beach was very quiet away from the crowds. Superb facilities and room. Regrettably the service in the restaurant was so slow we gave up on the scone night and ate elsewhere.
my boyfriend and I had the most amazing time staying here. the restaurant is superb! we really loved the friendly staff and would certainly recommend it to any of our friends and family.
We had such an amazing time staying at Las Ranitas.
We were greeted at check in with a refreshing juice, the first view of the ocean from the lobby is gorgeous and the staff so friendly. Our room was exactly as it appeared in the pictures. We stayed in the Cristal upstairs unit which is definitely worth the extra cost as it has AC. Everything in the room was perfect, down to the high end bathroom products and the charming flowers and towels arrangement that the housekeeping left every morning.
We stayed during turtle hatching season. Each morning the hotel staff would check the beach for baby turtles who hadn't made the trek into the ocean because of seaweed that washed up on the shore. They would gather up the babies and then release them after dark the next time. The staff genuinely care for the survival of the baby turtles and were kind enough to include the guests in helping the babies on their journey into the ocean. Really special experience!
Breakfast each morning was by far my favorite meal. A great selection of smoothies, standard breakfast fare and wonderfully spicy mexican egg dishes. Wait staff were all very cheerful and friendly.
We stayed during the slow season, but I can imagine the hotel zone gets packed during busy season. Las Ranitas is at the southern edge of the hotel zone and I imagine one of the quieter places when the hotels fill up.
Highly recommend this hotel!
Las Ranitas is on a beautiful beach, has excellent facilities including an awesome restaurant. Staff are really accommodating and it's a really relaxed atmosphere. We stayed 3 nights in an Azereus room. It was simple but lovely. The fan and ocean breeze kept us comfortable at night. We were upgraded to a crystal room for our last 2 nights and it was very luxurious. I can recommend both, depending on your budget.
most beautiful beach front location. this hotel has a huge open air, thatch roof covered restaurant setting. perfect for a wedding or other special event, or just to hang out and enjoy the beautiful ocean breeze and view. the food was very good, with a wonderful healthy local and international cuisine. there is a large yoga room on location. staff was very professional and friendly. we highly recommend this hotel to our friends
We had a wonderful time at Las Ranitas. We stayed in Coqui 2, a second floor room overlooking the ocean. Our room was so convenient - steps to the beach and we shared a plunge pool with 3 other rooms. The hotel is in such a cool setting. It is further down the beach. Nice restaurant and very friendly staff. We had a blast!
I went on vacation for two weeks before starting a new job , in hopes to clear my head and get away from technology. I was traveling alone and decided on Las Ranitas.
First and foremost, the staff was unparallelled at making me feel comfortable and seeing I had everything I needed. The food was truly amazing and special preparations (fresh seafood, chicken, etc.) were available to me nightly. I also went to a number of other restaurants, but only found one that was comparable in the beach area. Therefore, I continued to eat at Las Ranitas and was able to talk to the chef and sous chef, whom seemed very proud and excited when I enjoyed their food.
Because I was traveling alone, the front desk personnel, bartenders and waiters became my traveling companions and are simply a great group of people. Nice, friendly, intelligent, funny and thoroughly seemed to be invested in making sure I had a pleasant trip.
The room was absolutely beautiful (Cristal 21). It was a second story room overlooking the ocean and I spent many hours just sitting drinking a beer in the evening and watching the waves roll in. The bed was extremely comfortable and the housekeeping kept the entire place pristine everyday.
The hotel is situated on a beautiful stretch of beach with great swimming and when calm, snorkeling 30 feet out. It was very, very quiet (albeit it was the low season) and felt like I had the whole place to myself.

Las Ranitas is located on a nice beach location, it is right on the beach, the hotel is good but lacks of ambiance and staff is regular, not beyond expectations they just do thier job. Food and Beverage experience is average, no entertainment.
This hotel has one of the best locations on the beautiful Tulum beach. All rooms have a view to the ocean, service is really good. I would really recommend this hotel and I hope I can go back one day.
Bästa läget!! Jättebra service! God mat!

It was our second time to Tulum and this hotel was a happy surprise. The only problem was that our trip was too short and did not get to take yoga or use the sparkling pool! All of the staff was great! They had movie nights which were great and a nice way to relax on the beach!
Las Ranitas Hotel way surpassed our expectations, the cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional even though it is located in the middle of an exotic Tropical Forest. "conservation area" .All the members of Staff stand out for their cordiality and willingness to serve with a smile, it was a joy to be there. The rooms are as good as the pictures in their website all is there. We started our day at the beach swimming, power walking or simply strolling and soaking the morning sun / heat . Our daily breakfast was at Las Ranitas in the palapa style restaurant and main lobby it was a great way to enjoy food it is placed alongside the beach front and literally one is eating by the beach, the food was excellently fresh and tastefully prepared dishes for all tastes.....there are many superlatives to go on.There is only one building construction flaw that needs resolving, they lack a solution to guide the water running from the roof down into a water draining channel on the ground, therefore as it is now one is litterally showered by the falling water from the roof, it is falling all along the roof edge no way to pass without getting soaked.....I pointed this flaw to the manager at this time; and hope they will fix it soon.It was otherwise one wonderful experience. We plan to return soon the country the weather and many other aspects one experienced are worth the return.. MVH Marie / Jose
great location, wonderful bar/restaurant area, great staff, great food. my only complaint is with the standard of the rooms where they were cramped, poorly lit and really not very comfortable. we had the basic, harlequin rooms but think they need to better for the price

Perfect location, relaxxxx and eat healthy
Just came back from our trip...The hotel is perfectly located on the beach side, our room opened to the sand. I must start this review with saying everything in Tulum is very rustic so I'm rating the hotel accordingly. It is not like a 5 star hotel, it is a cute smaller boutique hotel, with little issues here and there, but with a great staff that really tries to accomodate and help. Our room seemed way smaller than what the pics looked like. Didn't have air conditioning and only one power outlet. Kind of an annoyance, but then again, we come to Tulum to disconnect from it all. We slept with the door opened as it would get hot in the room if we didn't, but you get to hear the waves breaking and nothing is better than that for a good night of sleep. The restaurant's food was great, the breakfast there were the best we had in town. It did get a little pricier than the other breakfast places, but I felt the food was considerably healthier and fresher, I guess it all depends on what you are looking for. Yummy cocktails and healthy smoothies. We had an annoyance during our stay because apparently due to a storm, the internet cable got cut off or something, and we didn't get wifi in our room during our stay (only the first 2 days). So that was annoying, to get out of the room every time I needed to get internet signal. The staff is great, well trained and ready to help you with anything you need. The beds at the beach and super comfortable and had food service :) We will be back.
