"The whole town basically shuts down by 8:00 P.M. I got in late and was disappointed to find that there were very few dining options. My room was clean, but did not have soap, shampoo, lotion in the room, and the shower was missing the shower curtain. I was only in for one night and was leaving in the morning for work so I made due and didn't complain about the slight inconvenience."

"I was on the first floor and next to a room with a dog that barked for 2 hours while their owners went out to eat!! I found out on checkout that they would have moved me to a top floor where dogs are not allowed! The restaurant food was horrible! I paid $60 for Beef short ribs cooked bourginion and they were dry and parts crispy. They tasted like yesterday’s leftovers that were placed under a heating lamp!"

"The cabin was very cute, clean and set up with all of the amenities one needed. The location was excellent and very accessible to things in the area. The host was very responsive and we definitely would rent this cabin again."

"This property was lovely. The front room provided a gorgeous view of Lake Superior. The furnishings were clean and comfortable. Although I didn’t do any cooking, other than microwave, the kitchen came equipped with everything you’d need to cook and serve meals, including flatware, pans, serving dishes, knife block, etc. The appliances were also spotless and modern - better than my home kitchen. A very generous supply of extra towels and bedding were also available. The Wi-Fi signal was solid and reliable. I would definitely recommend this spot for a quiet, lake shore visit."

Voyageur Motel

"We are an older couple. 74 & 83, in the are to hike Gooseberry Falls and Tettegouche State Parks. This is an older property with just 8 rooms but our room was well maintained with a shower and showerhead that delivered a full amount of water at the right temperature once the hot water arrived at the showerhead. The toilet was clean and flushed properly. The only problem we found was there were no cups for water or coffee even though there was coffee and a pot available. We used our water bottles and didn't realize there was a housekeeper living right on the property. We didn't use the flat screen TV or the small refrigerator or small microwave and it was cool enough we only used the fan on the air conditioner so I can't comment on those items. For a great breakfast, reasonably priced ($4.95 for 2 eggs and toast with lots of other tasty options) full of locals try Judy's Cafe North of the motel, in town about 1/4 mile on the same side of the street. There also was a convenient grassy area just across the parking lot, for pets to relieve themselves. For the money, it was a good place to stay for a couple of nights."
