"Staff of the hotel ( not restaurants) were simply not interested in being helpful or hospitable. The reservation/ front desk staff are disingenuous; I was charged an early check in fee without this being confirmed to me - this was after waiting in their lobby for more than 4 hours for a room- while I was early to check in I requested early check in months in advance when I booked and upon arrival to their reception - which looks like a closet desk off an alley way I was told they ‘had a busy day yesterday’ and nothing was available and I could go out and find something to eat and come back around noon. Further when I questioned the early check in fee on my bill ( which I wasn’t told off on check in or check out ( mind you I also checked out at 4am) I was lied too that I was given entry to a room approx 1 hour before I actually was ( I have the text message confirmation inviting me to check front desk for a room). After formally querying this and raising my concerns I never received the courtesy of a reply. Also- as an Expedia customer a wine gift was due- which was never delivered despite housekeeping asking me if it had been delivered. Rooms are misleadingly small and inconsistent housekeeping. The only positive is the food and service at the restaurant for dinner. I would not stay again, and would not recommend: this is certainly not a 5 star experience and not one worthy of the price point. Explore other options before booking this!"

Four Points by Sheraton Flushing

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We were in town for a wedding about two hours north of NYC, but wanted to stay close to the airport for the convenience of getting back and forth. The area around the hotel is busy and safe, so we felt comfortable walking around at all hours. Check-in was fast and easy and our room was clean and comfortable. The room was up-to-date and fairly quiet, considering where it's located. Breakfast is offered at the restaurant downstairs for $17 a person and is buffet style. It was fine, but we did not return after the first trip, though, the staff were very nice. I wanted to specifically give a shout out to Adrianna at the front desk. She was very kind and helped us with luggage hold. After we checked out since we had a late flight. She made sure we were taken care of and helped us catch a shuttle to the airport when we were ready. I do really appreciate that the hotel offers luggage holds, valet parking, and a free airport shuttle. The shuttle driver was also super kind! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're staying in Flushing or around the airport."

"The room was mostly good, but the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling secured only with blue painter’s tape (seriously) and the ceiling above the toilet was slowly dripping water (certainly from a leak in the toilet plumbing in the room above). I took photos of these problems and showed them to two different desk staff and they said they would look into it. I took the photos to be sure they would refund the $100 security deposit collected at check-in. The deposit was refunded (I mention this because other reviews said they did not get their deposit refunded). There is no breakfast provided - just coffee in the lower level. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy as others have noted, but I didn’t worry about it too much because I was traveling by bicycle (and could ride to a less sketchy area in 2 minutes). I give the hotel 4 out of 5 stars because of the value, i.e., a pretty decent room (notwithstanding the issues noted above) at a very reasonable price. I would stay there again based on value for the money."

"Great stay, customer service, breakfast options and local attractions and restaurants. Only negative was the location with construction, general area was sketchy if not familiar with inter city life. "The rooms were decent, it was just inconvenient that in order to get your room cleaned daily you’d have to let the staff know and even if you left the sign on, your room wouldn’t be cleaned. I let the staff know and my room was not cleaned, so the cleanliness wasn’t all there but it does have a hidden gym, small fish pool area, even massage chairs and a big laundry mat within the hotel which was very convenient. If you’re going to Manhattan though prepare to take about an hour in subway and buses to get there. The staff were friendly though and for the most part helpful. I would wish that you could just get your room cleaned without having to ask them or at least they let you know in advance I was always on the go so letting them know before I left was difficult and calling the hotel can be a hassle as they don’t answer the phones often."
