"Thank you Monika for a wonderful long weekend! I stayed at this property June 23-25, 2023. I was looking for a weekend in the mountains to do some hiking, and found this property at the last minute. You stay in a 3 bedroom apartment in the family's farmhouse just outside of Grindelwald, Switzerland. The property was clean and well-kept, linens were provided, and you can secure your apartment separately from the rest of the house. "Gemütlich ist etwas anderes, die Zimmer sehr groß und es steht nichts an Möbeln drinne. Etwas Stoff für ein gemütliches Flair, Fehlanzeige. Dusche in der Badewanne, für Ältere gefährlich und der Zeit in keinster Weise entsprechend. Zimmer konnten zum Teil nicht verdunkelt werden um ein Aufheizen zu vermeiden. Beim Lüften sitzt man ständig im Zug. Lüfter zur Klimatisierung sind nicht zur Verfügung gestellt worden (über 30 Grad eine Woche lang). Die Küche ist gut eingerichtet bis auf das die...

"6 of us spent 2 wonderful days hiking in and around Gimmelwald, including the cable car to the Schlithorn. The town was much more quaint than Murren and had amazing views from our deck. We stopped at the store in Lauterbrautten to get groceries and created our own breakfasts and packed lunches."

"Voici un gîte que je recommande. Très pratique, dans une commune avec des commerces et une gare. Les alentours sont magnifiques sans être touchés par le sur-tourisme. Je me suis régalé sur mon vélo ! J'ai été très bien reçu. Le gîte est situé dans un coin très tranquille, au bord d'une route en impasse et très peu fréquentée."

"I did not realize this flat was in the mountains! I just saw that it had enough space for 6. The location was an added bonus! Spectacular views! And the house itself was incredible! So spacious and relaxing. "

"From booking to arriving and then leaving the process was very easy. The chalet itself is stunning, photos I saw prior to arriving did not do the property justice. This is without a doubt the best property we have booked in Switzerland. Lauterbrunnen is stunning and has numerous restaurants and shops. Parking in town can be difficult, but there is a path across from the chalet that is a lovely cycle into town. I will book this again next year. "

"We stayed in the old property. The new property is not yet opened. The hosts are wonderful and their children adorable. This is a farmstay, so know that smells from the farm animals will be present! We even milked the cows one evening! Perfect, breathtaking location."

"Gimmelwald is like a fairytale and Husmättli is a wonderful house to stay in. The view of the mountains and waterfalls are really a sight to see. Gino, the host, is very nice as well. If you have the chance to stay here, please do. You will be happy you did."

Good hotel even under renovations

"We knew in advance that the hotel was under heavy renovation/construction, but this did not detract much from the stay. The worse (?) was that the panorama of the Eiger N wall from the balcony was somewhat marred by a construction crane (see photo) - not a big deal. We found room to park at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was great. The room is nicely furnished. One small fault: not enough power outlets around and just one USB outlet. And confusing light switches that operate on a delay and take time to master. The price is high, but so are most prices in Grindelwald"
