"We had the BEST time at this resort!!! The resort was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, the staff was so amazing and accommodating and even provided a birthday cake without us requesting so it was such a lovely suprise. "We stayed here as a couple for 3 nights specifically attending for a friend's wedding, half board (breakfast & dinner). The hotel itself looks like it's located amongst other nearby hotels/resorts/residential and a beach. We didn't go to the beach as it wasn't private to the hotel and extremely busy, parasols everywhere (we travelled during the summer holiday). Hotel and grounds are large, clean and modern. " The villa was amazing. Not often a resort is exactly as shown in the photos but this was. The accommodation was spacious, spotless and had everything in it we needed for our stay, probably better equipped that my own home. Had a large balcony as well as a patio which was lovely. The resort on the whole was quiet, safe and had great amenities - free bike hire was a bonus! We were self catering but did try the restaurant/bar and the food was great. "

"It’s a stunning property. Loved the sunset champagne bar. Food and drinks are pricey, but there are other options nearby. The pizza at the Italian restaurant and the burger at the lunch spot near the pool with the swim up bar were yummy."

"We had a two bedroom suite at the Residences. Hotel is beautiful but it is very spread out. To go to beach and main hotel building you need to take a shuttle which you may need to wait for 15-20 minutes. For a 5 star resort service was a bit spotty. We had a mishap at breakfast- was told we can do a la cart instead of buffet but ended up waiting for 1 hour to get eggs which was ridiculous. This hotel is also outside of Albufeira so location is not super convenient - you have to drive to town. "

"Stayed for one night, the apartment was comfortable. The one downside to checking in was the timing was quite late at 5pm. however as it’s was only one night, and the complex is huge, I tried to walk to reception twice in the space of 90 minutes upon checking into my room and became completely lost. As a solo traveller, being right at the top of the hill in the back end of nowhere, I didn’t feel the safest throughout the night. Hotel Califórnia Urban Beach – Adults only

"We fully enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast every morning was phenomenal, the staff all very friendly and accommodating. Location was so convenient, you can come right out onto the street and there’s a convenience store steps from the entrance! The gym is quite minimal, so we went to the Marina du Albufeira and got a week’s pass at the Luxury Fitness there. The pillows are a bit on the small/soft side, but I’m sure they would have given us extras had we asked (we were always just so tired when we got back to the room!) We also found the room quite soundproof, despite being so close to the busy street and pool. "

"Absolutely beautiful property. Amazing views of the city!I was amazed how it was so perfectly annexed in the old city of faro, yet the property was so modern and relaxing. The spa room was amazing, and the drinks from the bar were as well. I will definitely stay here again if visiting Portugal, it's a nice way to step foot into what the South of Portugal has to offer. The staff are extremely nice and easy to engage in genuine conversation."

"The property was beautiful, including the beach. The room was large, clean, and up to date. The breakfast was so fresh and with many options to choose from. There was a good selection of restaurants on the resort. The staff and service was excellent. They even called the room for a wellness check when my husband was sick. I would recommend this resort for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation, beautiful beach, and close proximity to nearby restaurants and popular beach attractions. "

Fantastic relaxing hotel

"The hotel is AMAZING so are the staff!! The room had a beautiful view of the ocean and pool. The swallows were so cute flying around the greenery. The pool was great! Every 2 chairs had an umbrella. We went down to the beach but you have to reserve chairs and pay for them which we didn’t not so we sat on the sand for a little while. They have 4 restaurants which we only went to 2 we had buffet breakfast that had a lot to choose from and. Are at the Italian restaurant 2x food is excellent and Rita is the sweetest! All in all it’s ***** Much needed beach relax after site seeing Lisbon and Porto"

"The staff was wonderful, as was the restaurant food and the facilities. Of all the locations at which my wife and I stayed during three weeks in Europe, the Dom Jose was the cleanest and most comfortable. Rui, who worked the front desk, was great, as were all of the staff. The only complaint was that there was no on-site parking, which meant paid parking near the beach or parking a distance from the hotel. Otherwise, we'd visit again."
