Top Van Buren County Hotel Reviews

Holiday Inn Express South Haven by IHG

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed for a fall weekend to enjoy the changing leaf colors and sample some wines from around the area. The hotel was located a perfect distance from a variety of Southwestern Michigan towns, so we spent a lot of time outdoors. We were about a mile from downtown South Haven, so our hotel was away from the crowds and traffic. The hotel is about 1/2 mile from I-196, so there was no road noise. We were able to check in early, and the check-in procedure was quick. Our room was extremely clean. I was a bit nervous walking across the floors as I'm a bit of a germaphobe, but the carpet and tile seemed clean. There were stains in the carpeting, but I guess that's to be expected after 4 years of wear and tear. The king-size bed was comfy. We asked for fresh towels daily—housekeeping came in, refreshed the towels, and made the bed (which was unexpected but a nice welcome). Breakfast changed each day. I'm not a fan of omelettes, so we did not eat breakfast on our final day. However, the bacon was incredible!!! I wish they had offered bacon and scrambled eggs every day—my protein for the day would have been complete! My boyfriend, who is a coffee snob, LOVED the coffee and raved about how fantastic it was. Overall, this weekend was a perfect getaway, and the hotel experience was part of the reason!"

Yelton Manor Bed & Breakfast

10/10 Excellent

"My whole experience at Yelton Manor was one of magnificence. The manor was a stones throw away from the beach off of Lake Michigan of which I think would be a big draw for their business. Manor not shy of sitting rooms filled with books, chairs and beautiful air flow. After 2 days of walking and exploration, it was nice to get lost in the sitting room loft i found outside my room. Fortunately, I went on an off season, so my stay was greeted by the Manor all to myself. I felt like a king! Couple things though. Being i went in the fall, the grounds were void of flowers of any kind or fall like decoration. Outside patio was a garden filled with untamed weeds. At least manicure the grounds better! The staff was available by phone which I thought was impersonal. I felt like I would be bothering them if I called. Inn taker did promptly help me gain access to my room when I was locked out. Overall 4.7 out 5 stars."

Little House Of 82 Esplanade on South Haven's North Beach.

10/10 Excellent

"If I could give this home away from home, a higher rating, I would! The location is absolutely beautiful, the hospitality and communication are above and beyond, and everything exceeded expectations. Definitely adding this to the top of the list for next time there’s a future trip out this way!"

Lake Michigan Beach & Heated Pool 1 King BR+ Cottage Sleeps 3

10/10 Excellent

"The house was clean and equipped with excellent appliances, very cozy. It is located in a very nice neighborhood with good sidewalks for walking and right across the street from a park with direct access to the beach. There is a heated pool, a pool table and ping-pong table right on the property. The yard is fenced, which is very nice for Pets and children. Our host left us yummy treats, and was very quick to supply one item that was not on the property that we needed. We would definitely consider staying again, and perhaps bringing more of our family."

Beachfront Luxury Home-NEW Private Heated Pool, Lake View, Firepit, Game Room

10/10 Excellent

"Plenty of room for our group of 12 to get together for a reunion. Beautiful room on main floor with large kitchen, seating area, and dining room which comfortably seated 12. Kitchen was well stocked. The house is configured such that the sleeping areas are nicely separated so everyone had plenty of privacy when desired. The beds were also super comfy. There are several levels so stairs are involved but no one complained even tho we were a group of retired ladies. This is a lovely home in a great location - walk out the door and it's less than a block to Lake Michigan beach. There is a really nice outside deck which looks out toward the lake- great with am coffee or happy hour, you can see the lake through the trees. It was a too cool to swim but the pool looked inviting too. Highly recommended, hope to return next year."
