"Everything was perfect, but the heating/cooling system in our room was not functioning properly. The thermostat would change overnight without us touching it. But if you don’t care about that, then it’s a 10/10! Yes, I am American."

"Hotel served our purpose well for a brief stay near the airport. Staff helpful. Rooms are small with few extras but functional for a short stay. We appreciated the coffee tea bar being available 24/7. If you arrive late food choices are limited. Restaurant closed at nine pm. We did walk a few minutes down the street to another hotel with a restaurant open until 11pm so were able to get something there. But otherwise there is nothing close. Appreciate free shuttle to the airport but it does get crowded. The Styles picks up first then goes to the other 2 IBIS hotels near by. We would this again if needed for a short stay near airport."

Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Arena Towers by IHG

"I have never had so many issues at a property and could have overlooked it but first no one ever answers the reception when needed. At checkin I asked about dinner and was told that the restaurant opens at 9:30 pm and the bar at 11:00 pm. I said this is really late to go to dinner. Then I had some questions later to see if this was correct among other things and no one picks up at reception. The rooms are not easy to get to and the elevators are slow so going back and forth is not convenient. Also when leaving I asked for a taxi to another hotel and was ordered a car service at twice the price of which I was not quoted. I specifically stated I do not need a service just a regular taxi, which the service cost twice as much as a regular taxi. When I called to complain, again no one picks up. If there is ever an emergency in this vast tower property, it is a potential liability for management. The Holiday Inn Towers did pickup each time and stated they would have quoted the price before ordering the car and offered options. Each time the Towers property would contact the Express for me. I do not recommend this property despite convenience for concerts and its proximity to the financial district. All in all a very frustrating 24 hours of stay."

"Waiting for a long time at the airport because they use different shuttle buses, nobody can tell you where it will stop or what it looks like, what colour it is. Hotel name isn't on shuttle bus we got on. Called hotel, reception staff were not helpful. Room was comfortable."

"Big rooms with nice views, especially if you are on high floors. Beautifully decorated. Mixed feelings about the mattress and pillows, which is a very Dutch style are square. No offence, but shorter people will find that many things in the room are placed very high, like the sink, the liquid soap and the closet racks to hung clothes. Excellent cocktails at the bar!"
