Close to the bus drop off and train station, and right in the middle of the city. Nice lady and she response quick enough. Good place to stay especially on a budget. Only problem was shower did not drain quick enough.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Pro:great location (10mins from train and bus station), safe, near water taxi, good food options. Common space is big and nice. Staff cleaned the bed and the room for us and they did great. Very quiet space.
Cons: wifi didn't work the whole time and the host did not respond when asked ( we stayed two days). The room space is tiny and has a bathroom and an open shower with a curtain and it's very easy to smell the bathroom from the bed. Ventilation is extremely bad. There is no net on the window to keep mosquitoes off the room. Because the ventilation is horrible you have to open the window to air the room out and when you do sooooo many mosquitoes come right in. We were in room 5. It was very difficult to use the shower as there is only a curtain separating the shower area from the rest of the room so the whole room fogs up or gets splattered with water. The sink is also right there. I know the smell from the canals can't be stopped but having the toilet in the bedroom without any separation isn't Good at all. We would not recommend.
I enjoyed my stay here, very large shared living room area in the apartment with kitchen facilities, big room with comfortable bed too. Great for the price.
Awesome experience, the staff was very friendly. My room was amazing with a canal view, and so much room for such an amazing price. I will definitely be coming back here the next time I visit Venice
Convenient location, good communication with staff
Great location as for the luggage handling from Piazzale Roma, the guest house has a spacious room with an external, yet private bathroom. The city tax payed on spot was higher than what Hotels.com confirmed in the confirmation email. The place is great for the convenience more than comfort, but even that was palatable for a single night stay.
room and bathroom at the limits of decency.
the bathroom in particular really obscene.
to this it should be added that in the face of the three euros that Expedia had indicated as due for tourist tax, the structure demanded eight.
Beyond the damage the mockery.
very bad
The property was easy to locate and a short 10 mins walk from the station. We stayed for 1 night. We opted for garden view but wasn't aware that the garden was actually the back of a church. There are private bathrooms however it is located outside your room so if in the middle of the night you wanted to use the washroom it means u walk out across the hall to your bathroom open the door and then close the door. My fear was I was waking up the neighbors as the doors creaked while opening and closing. The room itself is very spacious and lots of storage. The bed is comfortable. We were able to check in early since the room was available. We also checked out and was able to hold our luggages in the lobby however wasn't able to use the bathroom when we came to pick up our luggage. All in all a good stay
There were many issues which impacted our stay. The bedsheets were dirty, the toilet seat was broken, the shower was broken, when you had a shower the water would overflow and leave the entire bathroom covered in water which made me and my partner just had 1 shower each the entire trip as it was a shared bathroom and we were worried about leaving the bathroom wet. There were bugs in the room and both me and my partner ended the trip with a load of bites. There was a bit of noise from the restaurant downstairs and throughout the accommodation which was expected but still an issue. We believe the necessary standards haven’t been met. Our bedsheets were changed and they were still dirty. The location was the only good thing about this place
Our stay was nothing short of a nuisance. For some reason they decided to do construction banging at 7:30 in the morning.
There was no hot water for both nights we stayed, we thought it was because someone used it up, but after speaking with others staying there, no one was able to shower with hot water. We messaged the owner and no response.
The owner is also trying to charge different tourist tax on everyone. The listing says $1.5 per person per night, we were quoted $4, someone else was told $5. We’ve reported this to Hotels.com, the person who worked there pretended she did not speak english.
Note that they will also come into your room unannounced once you leave. Secure your belongings and goods.
The pictures om the website are far from the truth and we were deeply disappointed with this accomodation.
The toilets are horrible. The toilet seat are moving around when you sit down. There is water all over the floor after someone shower. The doors get stuck to the wooden floor because it's so uneven. To close the door you basically have to wake the whole apartement complex because they are so stiff. Or surrender to going to the toilet with the door open.
The keys to the locks on the doors are a joke - you can open the doors with basically anything. The air condition does not work.
The cleaning staff is very friendly and although the accomodation was terrible they tried their best to clean the place. But that is the only good thing about this place.
Inexpensive with cheap quality. Bed was uncomfortable. Apartment was overrun with mosquitos. Was constantly buzzed and bitten all night long. Should not have to wear bugspray to bed. Staff did not send access code until after we left US so we did not get the email until the day after we arrived. They insisted they sent it earlier but we checked our email at the airport in Venice before we came in to town and it was not there. Had to spend $450 to stay in another hotel the first night. Do not stay in this place unless you like poor service and bug bites.
Do NOT book this place if you still have time.
It has been the worst experience ever, the room was nothing compared with the photos, we couldn't sleep as the room stinks all night long.
I called the "hotel contact number" and nobody answered, then I wrote in whatapp, they reply "who are you" i explained who I was, room number etc, i told them air conditioning is not working, wifi doesnt work and the room stinks, they did nit give a f*ck, just ignored me.
Absolutely disgusting the toilet, the sink was in the middle of the room and the shower as well I had never been in such a horrible place.
DO NOT BOOK IT FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY
Absolutely horrendous service from the Dorso Duro hotel. I booked and tried to call multiple times as my arrival time would be outside of the standard hours and it states to call and they can accommodate this. After 8-10 calls without response I boarded my flight and when I landed I tried again with no reply the hotel was still open at this point. I reached the hotel to find it closed and no one answering a mobile number that I was calling repeatedly resulting in me having no accommodation. They have since declined my request to refund my stay even though I followed their instructions and still could never access the property absolute shambles of a host hope they go bust
