"The property is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The staff are excellent, friendly, and helpful. It’s a short taxi ride into town and moments from the airport of course. I used the Hotel shuttle. I had my mother and my aunt, both in wheelchairs, and the driver was so helpful with them. I highly recommend this hotel!"

"Photos make hotel look dated. But while the style is from the past, finishings are not worn and everything is of top quality. Hotel is well located between the train station and the heart of the action. We had a great stay and would love it if every hotel we stay in is as nice."

"We arrived in Bologna by train for a 2-night stay and the Starhotels Excelsior was a great place to land. The hotel is directly across the street from the train station and within a 20 minute walk to the center of town, which made it ideal for our needs. The front desk staff were helpful and efficient, and the room was spacious - you could walk around without tripping over suitcases - with a comfortable bed. Also, it was very quiet inside the room - any noise from the street below did not reach inside our room. The hotel was a basic place to stay for a couple of nights and met our needs perfectly."

"We were very pleased with our room and the service we had while staying at the hotel. We noticed earplugs on the nightstands a thought ..oh no is it going to be noisy…but no it was not. Very walkable to the train station and monorail to the airport. The streets are very much alive at night with numerous restaurants within walking distance. A great place for the two nights we stayed in Bologna or for an even longer stay."

"The location was great only 5 min walk from Piazza Maggiore, and lots of amenities nearby. Staff were helpful. My room was clean, but the carpets in the main common areas look like they are the same age as the building. That would be my only criticism. Otherwise, for the price it was a pretty basic hotel that did the job."
