This shelter over the Roman archaeological site in Chur was one of Peter Zumthor’s first projects in 1986. It is built almost exclusively from timber lamella that allow both light and ventilation into the museum space.

Small improvements would be suggested for the bedrooms where the beds are quite short, as are the duvets! My friends staying were not very tall but limbs needed more coverage!!"

Our only criticism of the chalet was that it has 3 double beds, and it wasn't possible to split any into twin beds for the single guests. The booking was complicated and confusing as once you have booked (and paid) VRBO, you are then passed onto another company called E-Domizil - and so had to check this...
