"Omg! What a fantastic hotel! We are a family of 4 adults 2 children and 2 dogs. We were welcomed to the hotel by a warm, friendly lady, who offered us all of the information we needed. The following morning it was just wonderful to see that there were breakfast tables available to sit at with our 2 dogs (who are our babies!) Breakfast was lovely! Then we discovered the beautiful garden, which both the children and dogs loved and used lots of energy before our onward journey! We all felt we could not have chosen a better hotel! Laura on reception was exceptional, so lovely and helpful! The surrounding area was beautiful too! We walked into Christleton and had a meal in a lovely pub, with gorgeous staff! "

"This fantastic hotel is a real gem, situated in the heart of lovely Shrewsbury and would make a great base for explorers enjoying all the local amenities. The Lion Hotel reflects the environment; quirky, an architectural gem filled with ancient and beautiful furniture pieces, an historic idiosyncrasy still resplendent in faded charm. Not for the fussy or fastidious traveller. This would be for Hogwarts lovers and those seeking individuality. Fabulous comfortable half-poster bed and luxurious bathroom with masses of piping hot water. No breakfast available, but super delicatessens within a minute's walk gets you up and out too! Very reasonable parking fee and dogs welcome. We will come back as often as we are able."

"Warm welcome and beautiful room. Ate lunch in the Nelson bar on my own while waiting for partner to arrive and was made to feel comfortable and welcome. Same waiter on the evening - George. He was chatty funny and even sung for us - a fabulous member of staff. The room was beautiful and spa experience was fabulous. We especially enjoyed the live piano music on the evening with a cheeky cocktail or two! Will definitely stay again! "

"Fabulous location and beautiful views. This hotel is only a 15 minute walk into Llangollen. The staff were amazing and Melanie and the new girl Jody showed us the beautiful penthouse suite which is out of this world. We look forward to returning very soon. "
