"The hotel was very calm and quiet. Room was comfortable and clean. The 415 bus to York was easy to access. A good choice available for breakfast. Evening mesls st the Fat Abbott pub were fantastic. Lovely pub with great good. Cloisters Spa was really good and i enjoyed an excellent full body swedish massage. Excellent. Relaxing 2 night stay, just what I needed. "
"Beautiful property and landscaping. Really kind staff, hard-working, but slow service. Which is fine if you are up for a long relaxed meal. Probably a little understaffed.. Everyone worked very hard. Room was very nice but a little dated the bed was slightly soft for my comfort but very rich and historic site. "
"The staff were really friendly, the room was spacious and really clean. The bed was ok, I guess my only criticism would be it could maybe do with a new mattress, you could tell it was quite old and if you rolled near the edge of it there was no support and you pretty much fell out of bed :)
There was a good choice at breakfast every day and a selection of full English items which was nice.

"Pleasantly surprised. Paul was very welcoming & friendly. He gave us advice on taxis and where to go (taxi less than £7 to first direct arena - dont get uber!). Hotel dated but really nice. Breakfast was lovely with enough choice. Room good, bed a bit too soft for me. The fan was a welcome addition as it got hot overnight and the quilt is very warm. Shower was extremely powerful only issue with it is its an overhead shower which isnt great for us ladies not wanting to get their hair wet (luckily...
"Great welcome and communication by the people running the house, its tucked away in a quiet place with locked and safe parking behind a gate. Rooms were very clean and comfy but I didn't have any food which was kindly on offer so can't comment on that. Very friendly welcome."
