Autumn Getaway

This was the ideal property for us to base ourselves on, plenty of secure grounds for our border collie to explore. The cottage was well equipped, cosy warm fireplace and comfortable beds. Lovely touches including continental breakfast staples, chocolates, wine and doggie treats were a nice addition. Enjoyed our stay.

Great clean warm accomodation with everything you need ad close to the city centre of Mt Gambier!,

We enjoyed our stay and Kelpie cottage, very warm and cosy, open fire great, accomodation clean and everything you need, owners very friendly, thaank you so much Pauline.

Worrolong

Great location with a large yard for kids to play in. The breakfast amenities were very generous and much appreciated. It was lovely to see the animals each day. The hosts were very responsive.

Loved it!

Such a beautiful place to stay and so nice to hear the stories of all the animals from the hosts. Really appreciated the provisions as we had a full car so didn’t bring much food, plus the secure yard for the doggo was brilliant to know they didn’t need to be on lead the whole time. Highly recommend it as a place for travellers with dogs.

Beautiful cottage property

We had such a wonderful stay. Pauline and Russ are excellent hosts and the breakfast and provisions were amazing. It was wonderful to be able to bring our dog with us, and the kids loved getting up close and prrsonal with the animals. Have definitely recommended to all my family and friends.

It was a very nice place to stay with my dog. It was fabulously looked after. Very easy to find. In a lovely quiet spot. Loved the nice goodies in the fridge.

House stay with dog Oh. ...And the wife.

House was excellent had everything we needed.also was well priced and we were well looked after. The dog had everything he needed even some treats and food. Beds and house were clean and comfortable. Would I come back if I am in the area yes most definitely. Thank you for letting us stay

In the country, close to town

We had a lovely stay. The owners were welcoming and friendly but we had plenty of privacy as well. Pauline came over for a chat on Day 2 to check everything was going well. Good food preparation facilities, they had everything we needed covered. Warm bedding to protect against the chilly nights but the aircon was super effective if anyone needed a back up. Really well set up place, if you have pets or not. Highly recommended.

PEACEFUL COTTAGE

We spent 5 nights at Kelpie Cottage with our dogs. The accommodation provides everything you could need for a short stay. Electric stovetop proved a little problematic (couldn’t get the heat down low enough) but everything else was great. Bottle of wine, breakfast supplies, firewood, lovely comfy recliner chairs, nice hot shower, comfy bed. We had business to do in town and the cottage filled the bill nicely.

Awesome Experience and Lovely Hosts

This property is lovely and is true to its word pet friendly. Every thing has been thought of to cater for your pooches big and small. Spare beds, water bowls and feed bowls in case you forget yours as well as some treats. The back yard is well fenced for all dog sizes I checked out the horse boxes as well and they’re spacious. The lovely gardens provide visual barriers for the Kelpie cottage to the hosts animals/livestock which was good for our German Shepherd to reduce excitement and fencing is 6ft. Dont forget the humans… we were very well catered for with a well stock fridge if all the core things such as milk, coffee bread etc… Nothing inside is flashy ‘new’ which is perfect (don’t need to worry about your dog getting a small scratch on something or dropping hair), but it’s very comfortable and the heaters work great. Pauline and Russ, were so helpful, accomodating for all our needs. Only sorry we didn’t have time to visit the rescue sanctuary. Thank you so much!

Lovely little house

The house was great and exactly as described.The breakfast supplies were lovely and totally unexpected.The dog enjoyed running around outside in the backyard. The fireplace was awesome and soo warm for a cold winter weekend.Russ & Pauline were lovely went above & beyond to make our stay great.2 nights wasn’t long enough, wish we could’ve stayed longer! Thanks for having us.

Pet Friendly

An ideal BnB for family & pets. Heaps of food provided, to help when you arrive & following days. For a winter stay there is a wood heater, making it nice & cosy. Anyone would love staying there with their pet.

Disappointed

To be honest we were disappointed with the property. It was not very clean, between the seats on the couch was like a sand pit, the shower had quite a bit of mould and soap scum. The beds were very poorly made with fitted sheets not even pulled on properly, however they were comfortable. The towels were very thin and old. We loved the fire and that kept us nice and warm. Overall the accommodation was ok for what we needed but is a bit tired and could be presented a lot nicer. We would not choose to stay again.

Loved our stay

Had the best time with our 3 kids and dog. It was so nice knowing our dog was looked after in a very secure yard when we went out. Provisions were incredibly generous. Loved seeing the beautiful animals at the property. Beds are so comfortable. Location is perfect. Owners were lovely and very helpful. Thank you for having us.

Wonderful stay for pet owners visiting Mt.Gambier

Property is well located in a calm private place near Mt.Gambier. Plenty of space around the house to walk the pets or play with kids. Pet owners would love a stay here with plenty of space with fence.

Beautiful Quiet Location

Lovely, quiet place just outside Mount Gambier. Nice big secure yard for the 2 dogs. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen, lounge room and shower. Nice gesture of breakfast goodies, chocolates and wine on arrival. Pauline greeted us at the gate and was a good communicator from start to finish.
