We stayed in this hotel while visiting Nagano prefecture in early December. The rooms are in a more traditional style with paper sliding doors, tatami mat floors and Yukata supplied for guests to wear during their stay.
It has free parking which is valuable in a small town like this and having a car allows you to travel further out easier however decent train and bus services are also available I'm told.
The receptionists were very helpful, offering us local advice, maps, and directions to the nearby Shiga Kogen ski resort, as well as information on ski equipment hire. The nearby Izakaya and restaurants are friendly places.
The Onsen is free to use for guests and is a great experience. Very hot and relaxing there are both indoor and outdoor pools to bathe in. A new experience for myself as you do have to be nude to bathe but the Onsen are open all night so you can go at a quiet time to relax by yourself.
