"I really enjoyed the location of this property. I stayed in Room 11 which doesn't really have a view or anything, and it's very compact, but it was perfect for what I needed. The location cannot be beat! Check in really starts at 3pm. I showed up at 2pm, and it was locked, which is totally fine! The breakfast is a prepared bunch of rolls, cheese, meat, coffee drink, jam, butter, and a real Nata pastry. Delicious! I would stay at By the Sea anytime I return to Nazaré. "

"Pros: GREAT location with beautiful views right across the street from the ocean. Staff is very friendly. Loads of amenities (though you have to pay extra). Cons: Bungalows have ZERO light in the kitchen and minimal lighting in the room. We had to use our headlamp to cook. There is no way to have air circulation in the room if you don’t have the main sliding doors open while you sleep. Only one small bathroom window that cracks a few inches. You will either be hot with no air flow or leave the door open (we felt safe) and get bit up by mosquitoes as there’s no screen. A few tweaks and this place could be a gem. "
