"The hotel is uphill with beautiful views of the mountains. The sunset was incredible. Be aware the road is unsealed the last kilometre and you need to WhatsApp message the hotel in advance of arrive for them to open the entry gate. Staff were very friendly and accomodating even though our Spanish is terrible. This is a boutique hotel with only 5 rooms and we had the place to ourselves. "Hosteria Papagayo was a lovely place for us to rest and relax after hiking Quilatoa and Cotopaxi. We enjoyed exploring the farm - free ranging chickens, ducks, cow etc - with our 2 year old son. The room was nicely furnished and the breakfast was good. Wifi was good and water pressure/temperature was good. The hotel staff also kindly accommodated our food requests. "We picked this hotel because it is close to the bus terminal that we were leaving from in the morning. stayed there again when we came back from Quilotoa. They kept our suitcase and then put us back in the same room. The price is right. It was a bit noisy, our room faced the main street. Many places have filtered water available to you to fill up instead of buying bottles, this one did not. "
