The hotel's foundation has sunken a bit (or more in some places) which is charming but a little disconcerting if you're thinking you might fall out of bed!"

"The Royal is in a great location just off the Tarka Trail a short walk across the bridge into Bideford. I was staying in a Standard Room. I booked a single but was upgraded to a double which was a nice surprise. The hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment - it didn't interfere with my stay. "Really nice room in a lovely coaching inn. Quality bedding , towels etc. comfy bed. Booked & prepaid thru Hotels.com and when we arrived we were a little taken aback to be charged an extra £20 for our little dog. It would have been nice to have known about this extra fee beforehand as it came as a bit of a shock , I didn’t get any reply from accommodation following my messaging them & also leaving a telephone message to say we’re bringing our dog.
