"This isn't a hotel. It's a poorly maintained house, far from what's advertised on their website. The room is damp, and the bathroom is disgusting. The blankets are dirty and worn. They start making noise early in the morning, and the mosquitoes in the room are unbearable. The entrance is a 10-minute walk through narrow alleyways filled with dog feces and trash. They can't accept such terrible service and infrastructure."

"I arrived at 8:30pm with my elderly parents after a long travel only to find that the hotel denied any booking, they admitted fault but did not have any rooms. The manager tried to blame Expedia and did offer other hotels which I had to book. At 9:30pm we ended up in an average hotel and had to chance the next day. The whole experience was awful and beware if you are booking through Expedia or Hotels.com as even if you have a confirmed booking, there is no guarantee. "

"Had an amazing stay with Avantika Taj this month. Rooms have a breathtaking views. Cleanliness,Hospitality is extremely impressive. The hotel is new, hence the service is slow but overall experience is great. The only challenge could be taking 50-60 steps every time ( especially for elders) which needs to be considered before booking as there is no other way to commute. Shall visit again . Thank you ."

"The hotel was the nicest we’d been to in our weeks in India. Several areas stood out in our minds. Wonderfully kind and helpful staff, opening doors, organizing rides, making change. Rooms were lovely, great shower pressure and temp. Nice wall mount blow dryer, comfy bed, air conditioning. Amazing cafe, really fresh and yummy food. I enjoyed the fresh Greek salad, hummus and pita, wedge fries, brownie Sunday. Complimentary breakfast was really nice too. Sid, the owner is always there, looking after every detail. Definitely give this place a shot! About 20 min drive from Ghats, and Buddhist temple. Two Canadians (40s)"
