"Quite basic but clean, fluffy towels and tea/coffee making facilities. No aircon but there was a fan available and it was surprisingly quiet so we were able to sleep with the windows open. The properties behind the hotel, which our room faced, were being renovated so I imagine that could be noisy if staying during the week but we were there at weekend and it was surprisingly silent. There is underground parking at the hotel but that was full, however we parked in the Rodney Road multi-storey...

"A really lovely hotel and the staff were all so friendly and attentive through our stay We did a spa morning whilst there and the massage was really good Also the restaurant was great with delicious food and a great setting especially sitting outside in the nice weather"

"The room was clean and spacious. Our only minor complaint is about the shower stall. It was only half enclosed so splashes of water on the floor was inevitable. The drain was also a little bit slow, so we had to turn down the shower flow to avoid standing in a puddle of water. The full breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold foods, which did not vary during our 3 night stay. We enjoyed it nonetheless. "Very quirky old hotel with a lot of history to the hotel as well. Staff were very helpful and courteous and were a joy to deal with. Public areas could do with some attention as there were evidence of dust and cobwebs visible during our 5 day stay. No one paying attention to it except for someone writing dust with their finger to highlight the fact. Obviously it was being observed by others! Some tlc to the decor needed although the bedroom we stayed in was quite pleasant. We did enjoy our stay...
