"We truly enjoyed our stay at Volcano Ranch. It is super convenient to Volano Park, but also a gem unto itself. The animals are delightful and our room overlooking the pond was super warm and cozy on a cool, rainy day. Every detail has been considered to make your stay here as comfortable as possible. "We absolutely loved our stay at Mauna Loa Lodge. The entire property is beautiful and peaceful, and it immediately made us feel welcome. The room was spotless and thoughtfully prepared, and all the small touches showed how much care the staff puts into maintaining the place. The tiny garden outside was especially lovely. We felt completely at home during our stay and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend!"

Shipman Cove Beach... 2.5 miles from the end of the road to the cove. Great hike through a jungle that leads to a beach covered in lava. The hike then turns into a climb over lava, loose stone and boulders. The cove is a nesting spot for Green Sea Turtles and passing Humpback Whales. We had the cove to ourselves and these guys.

"We were in Hawaii for 2 weeks, and stayed at several hotels, and the Plumeria Hilo Hotel had the best room by far because ut was more like an apartment than just a hotel room. There was a fridge, micorwave, hot plate, dishes, etc. A bit a road noise, but the beach was close by."
