"Like everything in Venice, things haven't changed in decades, so don't be surprised if the room looks like your grandmas 1950's parlor. But having said that, the location right within sight of the public transit dock is incredibly convenient, and the breakfast buffet was amazing and I'd stay here again because of that alone. Eggs, sausage, bacon, coffee, and croissants so fresh they just came out of the oven some mornings. Easy walk to some great restaurants and the beach. Even the church bell nearby has charm. (Don't worry, it doesn't ring all night.)"

"We found Hotel Rigel to be an excellent choice for our 5 nights. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the waterbus stop on Lido on a quiet road. Our room was comfortable and very clean with some interesting touches of Venetian style. As promised by the reviews, the breakfast was a generous spread of fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese, rolls, croissants, cereals, nuts, eggs, salad and a tempting array of biscuits, cake and tarts. The hotel does not have its own restaurant but there are several close by and because the Lido is mostly residential you get a more authentic Venetian experience.There is also the bonus of seeing Venice surrounded by snowcapped mountains...magical. Get ab ACTV pass and you are sorted."

"Hotel was lovely, room was great just the bathroom/ shower shelf missing/Broken meaning all shower stuff had to be left on the floor. Breakfast was great not full English but scrambled eggs,bacon and all the usual continental and cereals. Served with fresh coffee or tea. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by and away from the madness and costs of Venice island. Handy for the actv waterbus 5-10 mins walk would definitely go back"
