"We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Montecarlo! The hotel is in a wonderful, central location close to Piazza San Marco. The staff was helpful, always ready to answer questions or give advice on local restaurants, things to do, etc. We had them arrange a water taxi for us to go to the airport, and it was an exceptionally smooth process. They even helped us transport our luggage to the water taxi. We never had breakfast or afternoon tea at the hotel, so I can't give an opinion on those. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Montecarlo again and recommend it to others. "

"Breakfast was extensive for such a small place. Front desk staff was anazing!!! Appearing shortly after check in with a welcome belini❤️ Liberal use of scented cleaners made the room smell unbearable. Front desk provided a fan very promptly to help. The hotel in under renovation & beside a gym/dance studio. So there is noise during the day if you're in the hotel during the day. My room had a large structural pillar in the middle of the rim making it hard to navigate the space. But the bed, balcony view, bathroom were spot on!!"

"A lovely place, just a pleasant walk from the waterbus stop. It's a short walk to the beach too. The rooms are big and it's comfortably equipped. Lovely products in the bathroom, almond scented."

"Stayed in a family room, large double bed, 2 single beds. All fine. Basic but very functional. Location perfect, we loved staying in Lido and this is a short walk from the dock yet set among lovely bars and restaurants. The breakfast was limited but had all we really needed. Overall we would be happy to use this hotel again."

"Note: this hotel is not on the main isle of Venice. It's on Ludo Island, which is close to Venice, but not on the main island. We did not know this, and it took an hour and a half by waterbus to get from the train station to Lido while lugging all our bags, etc. And honestly, it takes a while to get to it from where all the big things are on Venice, so you spend more time travelling because your hotel is further out. Luckily, the hotel is just across from the waterbus station, and the bed was pretty comfy, but if we'd known it was going to be so far removed from everything we'd be doing, we wouldn't have booked on Lido. You probably pay more to be on Venice itself, but it's likely worth it. The waterbus "system" is a disaster to navigate, so being further out really does hinder you. the hotel was okay. The breakfast was okay, but not as good as other hotels we stayed at in Italy. But we likely would not stay here again, given everything we know now. "
