"We had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed the breakfast selection. We would particularly like to mention the concierge Jitchendra who was most helpful in arranging our 2 day tour of all the main attractions. All the staff were very friendly and polite."
"The place had a character, it was beautiful, well maintained. The rooms were very clean and updated. Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent with good choices. Food was fresh and tasty. Overall a great experience for me, my sister and her friend. We ! Would recommend this place for anyone"
"Tradition meets modern luxury. From the chandelier that greets you to marble‑lined courtyards perfect for long strolls, every corner feels magical. Our spotless room offered unmatched comfort, with air‑conditioning and sleep quality that set a new standard, plus breathtaking night views of the palace lit up in grandeur. The staff’s warmth elevated the experience, especially Akash at Shrot restaurant, who made our meals feel personal and memorable. Dining was superb, with carefully crafted dishes...
"We only stayed for a little while as we had a late flight but everything was fine as I had expected. Good WiFi for working, staff was nice (except our first receptionist who was a bit rude - we came down 3 times as our card didn’t work). Would stay for a short time again."
"We stayed here for 4 nights and felt secure, relaxed and taken care of. The staff was very friendly and helpful if/when we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again!"
"Suite rooms are huge and beautifully decorated. Beds are firm though. Hotel is located in a start district with nice restaurants nearby. Rooms are excellent value for money. Sadly the Barman tried to rip us off by serving a high class wine when we ordered house wine. We had 12 glasses between a group of friends so the price difference was huge so beware. Breakfast was dreadful. Pastries were stale and eggs were full of salt. You ’re be better having the Indian curry buffet. "
"The Shakun hotel is well located in the city and just slightly out of the hustle and bustle of the main road; it's great for tour pick-ups and grabbing an Uber to dinner in the evening.
The hotel is a little dated and perhaps not quite as grand as it once was. We travelled outside of peak season and it felt like the staff had been switched to a less experienced team who perhaps weren't as knowledgeable about service. However, they were always really friendly when we approached them.
However,...
"Property was clean and staff was helpful. But parking space was very limited and entrance was too narrow. Maintenance work was going and roof top swimming pool was of no use. Even buffet breakfast was not available. However staff upgraded our room as we paid around 6500/night."
