"The room we were assigned was in the basement where there were no elevators. My husband (62) and I had to carry our luggage down the stairs to get to our room. Once inside the said room, it stunk so bad like mold and moisture. Our reservation was for a double bed, instead we were given two singles. Also the mattress was on the floor, no bed frame. We approached the front staff regarding our dissatisfaction and they kindly upgraded our room to a Suite on the top floor (6). As one would think...

"To be honest, and in my personal opinion, I don’t feel this hotel currently deserves a 5-star rating, especially considering the price. Our stay was unfortunately not a particularly pleasant experience. We had to change rooms because of unpleasant smells, especially on the lower floors. To be fair, the staff were helpful and arranged alternative rooms on higher floors, which I appreciated. The best part of the hotel is undoubtedly the spectacular sea view and peaceful location. However, when it...

"We had a super time we will definitely be back ,the staff was fantastic ,the Breakfast was superb Thank you👍"

"This property is right on the 7 hanging trails hike. Not a bad walk to downtown Carvoeiro. The staff are very helpful in recommendations for restaurants and activities. Would highly recommend."

"Everything about our stay was perfect! Food, staff, views, location. Everything. Thank you."

"We enjoyed our stay so much that we tried to extend our stay! Will definitely be going back the next time we are visiting Portugal. It's a bit of a drive from the property to get anywhere but the beautiful thing about this place is that you don't really need to go anywhere, just sit back and relax. 10/10 would recommend!"

"Sehr schöne Unterkunft. Haben mit drei Personen ein Upgrade erhalten. Tolle Anlage, leckeres Frühstück."

"My stay at Pestana Alvor Praia exceeded expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home with their genuine friendliness and helpful attitude. The attention to detail in room cleanliness and maintenance was top-notch—everything felt fresh, comfortable, and very well kept. Between the warm service and fantastic facilities, we had a truly relaxing stay. We will definitely be returning!"

"I really enjoyed the quality of service I received and the quality of the spa amenities."

"Clean, with a nice pool and a great breakfast options!"

"Heel mooi resort, prachtige locatie, schitterend uitzicht. Hele ruime kamers, prima ontbijt. Top verblijf gehad."

"Wonderful, thank you :)"

"Needs a outdoor hot tub that anyone could use included in the resort fees"

"Staff were 10/10 amazing! However we had cockroaches in our room and outside in the hallway. The open toilets weren’t amazing in terms of being clean either."

"Great stay for a week lots of activities, right next to the beach. Rooms spacious enough for 4. Lovely views from the room on the balcony and a ten minute walk into alvor town. Happy holidays"
