One day the weather suddenly changes, the surf slams the area, and... yup, one less princess. The warrior rushed back to the cave, but it was too late, he climbed the steep rock where he buried her in a tomb and then overcome with grief leapt to his death.

Moral of story might be... um, don't abduct women and lock them in caves.
