"This was a fantastic stay and the listing couldn't be more accurate. We stayed for 8 nights and it was our first holiday with our 5 month old baby.Kathie and Chris are great hosts. They really made us feel at home and went through everything with us when we arrived which put us at ease for the week and made us fully familiar with how to live comfortably during our stay.The views are stunning. The sunrises in particular were breathtaking given the apartment sits on an eastern facing hill. Kathie and Chris have done an incredible job with the design of the space as well.The pool - this was the standout for us. We were keen to still stay somewhere that enabled us to explore the west side of the island but the private pool was a huge plus point as we were keen to get our 5 month old into it and have the privacy and peace to do so at our own pace (without lots of kids splashing around or similar at hotel pools). Don't be put off by the pool being salt water - this isn't remotely as explicit as it sounds. It's a process of chlorinating the water and isn't remotely what you would guess a salt water pool would be like - do not let the naive understanding of salt water pools put you off - its better than a regular pool.Overall an unforgettable stay, which is lovely as we will cherish our first ever family holiday being somewhere as amazing as this.Do not hesitate if you are considering booking this apartment!! "Beautiful villa tucked in sweet local village. We enjoyed the villla, great views, spacious, clean, great character and a helpful friendly host. We shopped at local grocery and dined on the patio, enjoyed the pool and made use of the washer. Very safe place too! Highly recommend if you'd like to get out if the city and retreat for a bit."

"This is an excellent base, to explore Chania and the western part of Crete. It was so peaceful. The house is wonderful, with great spaces inside and out to congregate. But, it was also easy to have some privacy."

"Lovely villa, fantastic pool and garden area. Bit of a walk to Kalyves but downhill. Easy to get a taxi back up! Cleaner was great. Company very responsive via email. Would have liked some information about things in the villa and where to go to shop and eat, taxi services to use, things to do around the area etc. It would have been nice to have been left basics like bottled water, coffee, bread when we first arrived. "An excellent family holiday then location is extremely picturesque and surrounded by mountains. Everyday we saw the most wonderful sunset and sunrise. Sofia met us at the property, she cleaned and cooked delicious traditional food for us and completed check out, making these processes simple and personal. To enable a family to make the most of the island hiring a car is essential. We explored many beautiful beaches, ports and archaeological ruins as we were blessed with sunshine all week. I would recommend a visit for a lovely family holiday. "

"We had a lovely stay at this apartment, the cool winds being up a mountain helped keep the hot weather bearable. The checkin was different but worked for us. There was two parking spaces which was handy for us as we hired two cars.The rooms are spacious and clean. The kitchen is well fitted out with most items required to have a family holiday. All the bedrooms are fitted with aircon systems. The Wifi is very poor, we could not get any reception in the bedrooms snd had to purchase sim cards to get any form of wifi as we were still working whilst on holiday and needed Wifi. I believe there is only one router between three villas which is probably the issue. The toilet seats are loose and missing the securing nuts whis is pretty dangerous should someone slip off and hit their head. The two showers are very average, one shower is missing the sliding door and the hose doesnt fix into its bracked firmly so moves around. The second shower is in the bath and sprays towards the opposite wall which then poors onto the bath then onto the floor. Easy solution is to fit a shower curtain. But in general the villa is very nice and the views are pretty nice. Despite the few issues we had a very enjoyable stay. Oh and you will probably need a sat nav to find the villa the first time you drive there, its up a very windy road. Try the taverners 1.4km down the hill, they are very good. "
