PATIO HOUSE balcony shabby chic home in Spello

"Spello was everything we hoped it would be. And a great base to see many surrounding towns. The apartment was everything promised. With the location for wanders through the town, restaurants and the great bakery/cafe just perfect. The apartment had an excellent kitchen for the twice weekly dinners I cooked with the excellent local produce. Of course the pasta, tomatoes and pancetta was great but the surprise was the very young lamb and outstanding potatoes.Sonia was a perfect host. She provided advice on where to visit, arranged things for us, and was always available. We were there a month but could have stayed longer. As we were putting our suitcases in the boot of our car to leave, one of the restaurant owners driving by saw us, he stopped to thank us and to farewell us. This is what you get by staying in one place for a month as a base. You are no longer just another tourist. And Sonia’s and Monica’s house is a great place to stay."

"The house was absolutely beautiful, and the surroundings were stunning. It suited our group perfectly. We were four families traveling together with children, and each family had its own apartment with a kitchen, bathroom, and shower. There was also a large shared kitchen where we could cook meals together, as well as a spacious and lovely outdoor dining area where we enjoyed lunches and dinners. The pool was also great.Before our arrival, the host was very responsive and always provided quick and clear answers to our questions.To summarize, the house and its surroundings were fantastic. Unfortunately, what had a negative impact on our overall stay was that the host was very controlling and frequently present at the property, often several times a day. We had no issue with the gardeners being there (they were very friendly) or with someone coming to maintain the pool. However, the host would come by repeatedly and sometimes spoke to us in a rather harsh tone, almost as if we were children. For example, one evening we had moved some of the outdoor furniture a short distance from one part of the gravel area to another, fully intending to put it back afterward, but we were scolded for it.As a result, we never felt completely comfortable during our stay, despite how wonderful the house itself was."
