Fantastic!!! Our stay at the GAIA Hotel in Athens, Greece was so wonderful. The hotel owner, Alexander, was so gracious and kind. He even introduced us to his sweet mother. His communication was excellent and gave us wonderful ideas of where to visit and places that we should see. Alexander even took time to help us book our boat tour of 3 Greek Islands. The four of us stayed on the 3rd floor with elevator service. We were provided with the WIFI password immediately. Our room was clean and perfect, overlooking the lovely cobblestone streets of Athens. We ate at the Cafe's on the streets alongside the Gaia Hotel. Our rooms had air conditioning, clean towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The espresso/cappuccino coffee machine in our lovely room was provided with the coffee pods to make fresh coffee each morning, plus a basket of snacks. Our charming room had a balcony in which we could sit and have our coffee and Greek danishes. The GAIA Hotel gets all A+'s and all 10+ ratings from us. We are already planning our next trip to stay at the GAIA Hotel in Athens Greece.
The hotel is just right around the corner and i do mean steos from manu restaurants and shops. The metro is close too. The owner was a treasure he ealked us atound and showed us terrific little treasures. Beds were comfy..no complaints...great place to stay.
Hôtel nickel, bien situé avec un personnel très accueillant et arrangeant. Chambre spacieuse, très confortable et propre. Bon rapport qualité/prix. Je recommande
Gaia was perfectly located right in the main Psyri strip with lots of great places to eat. Short walk to the Monastiraki and the metro. Room was great two comfortable beds and exactly what we were looking for in Athens.
Alexander was great and even gave us the nickle tour around the area and arranged a car for to/from Airport but if you are arriving at a normal time the Metro to Monastiraki stop and a 5 minute walk to the hotel.
If you are thinking of a trip to Greece it was great. Crowds were minimal in the Acropolis and museums. Flying in/out of Athens was a breeze even with COVID precautions just give yourself a 2 hour layover in connecting flights.
Great service, the most comfortable bed of our travels in Greece, multiple USB charging points, lovely shower. The location could not have been better for us (quiet, but within a couple of minutes walk from vibrant and arty streets). Overall, this hotel is fantastic value and will always be our first choice for overnight stays in Athens.
The room was nice and the balcony overlooking the street was an added feature. The area arround the hotel is vibrant lots of restaurants and historical sites. Don't rent a car there is no place to park and in the high season you will spend a most of your time looking for one. Public transport is good but walking is a must as you will find places not on the tours. People are friendly and helpful dont hold back try a little off everything. A cab from the airport will cost you 40euro a bus which is readily available outside will cost you 6euro droping you a nice 12 min walk to the hotel.
Velholdt mindre hotel med venlig betjening. Blev flere dage vækket af en gøende hund, så der kan være dyr på adressen.
Bydelen er slidt og beskidt, men der er ikke langt til mere centrale dele af byen
Aleksander and the Gaia hotel were so warm and helpful. Not only was Aleksander Forgiving when our ferry was delayed by an hour and he had to stay later on a Friday night to let us in, he also helped us carry our bags to the train station so that we would not have to wait 30 mins for the next train. I wish him the best with the hotel and completely recommended staying here.
We only had a one night stay here but we're delighted with it. Location was great, lots of restaurants etc round the corner. Coffee maker and snacks also in room. Alexander could not have been more helpful and friendly. Very comfortable beds. Looking forward to a return visit
Gaia is in a great location...just steps from tons of cool little coffee shops and tavernas. The room was nice and clean and had a mini fridge and smart tv. No frills or extras in the hotel itself but really not necessary. Alex was great about ordering us a car service for our early morning flight back.
The room was very nice and they were very helpful.
This is not something the property can help, but I wish I had known before I chose it that it was adjacent to a very impoverished area of Athens. In one direction the area is fine/a typical city street. However, we were trying to walk about a half mile to a nearby museum and there were dead pigeons in the sidewalks and the street was utterly covered in litter. (No one is collecting the trash there, the street is the place it stays.) The people there were totally fine, even if traffic was a bit tense. I want to make it clear that I realize it’s a mark of my privilege that I never saw anything like it before, but it honestly terrified me to walk through it as a tourist. I felt guilty for having enough to be visiting their country while they struggled and horrified by the living conditions. The hotel itself is secure and safe—a very elaborate locking system— but please either be aware of the nearby areas or use Beat (a great ride app for the area) taxis to get around if you think it might make you uncomfortable as well.
Very friendly staffs will take care of you from upon the arrival to check out. Room is a bit small but very clean and got everything you need. Awesome location! It’s close to every touristy area but not too close to noisy and busy. I will definitely stat again!
The hosts were very cooperative when we told them we would be arriving late from the port.
I would making sure each has enough towels for showering (bath towels were too small)
Great location- within walkable distance to Bar &Restaurants and main attractions. Very friendly and very helpful services from Alex, we were provided with a mini guide tour of surround area by Alex.
We are very happy with the balcony room provided.
