"The staff are lovely and try to answer all of your questions. They even played along as I tried to speak French. They will let you store your luggage, if you arrive early or are leaving late. The location is perfect. It is a straight 800 metre walk from Avignon Centre train station. You are 100 metres from the main square and 250 from the Palace of the Popes. The breakfast is very nice. It is buffet style with fresh bread and pastries, juice, yogurt and a nice coffee machine that makes many types of drinks. The rooms are tired, but the beds and bedding is very comfortable. It’s an old French hotel, so the elevator is tiny and there are lots of stairs. A genuinely nice spot."

"A great location very close to the train station and only a 10 minute walk to the main sights. Lots of restaurants nearby, very very quiet and felt very safe. We had the attic room so headroom restricted (we knew that was the case), but the room was enormous so it felt spacious, the bed was massive and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and functional (slight issue in that toilet flush needed to be turned on and off with a tap, but that wasn’t a problem). We slept very well as it was so comfortable and quiet. The attic room is very good value, but there are steep stairs to access. The chap/owner on reception was very friendly and very helpful."

"Beautiful old hotel with an amazing history of guest including Napoleon. Maintained to a high standard. Nice breakfast and even better evening meal in the main restaurant. You need to book dinner as they do not have many tables. The staff were amazingly helpful and polite. A great stay and perfect location for site seeing the Avignon."

"From the front desk gentleman who helped us with our rental car, to check in and hotel staff, helpful and very attentive The facility is gorgeous and our room was lovely and the hotel staff was wonderful and professional. I do have some criticism (with the high rating of the hotel) about the kitchen and bar wait staff at the cafe (lunch) and (breakfast). Some seemed inexperienced and didn't know entirely how to service a room of patrons. I think the restaurant, breakfast and bar could use a "captain" to give the young staff some training on how to service guests while emphasizing details. we did not eat dinner in the formal dining room which seemed to have pro staff. I observed guests not happy while we ate breakfast and a bit frustrated. We asked repeatedly for coffee and other items. While the staff seemed quite busy re-filling up the buffet, some be sent to turn their attention at times on the guests, and better prioritized and that may just be training, circling back and seeing what guests may need. Some guests were forgotten in the outdoor section and came in twice to remind. Other guests were left trying to flag down the staff and remind them they had ordered something. The one young girl at lunch out side stacked all the dirty dishes on our table twice while clearing the food and generally seemed to lack confidence on how to serve the lunch and wine properly. But, we loved the hotel and this can be easily fixed- we will return. thank you"
