Great place to stay close to skiing

Great spot to stay close to skiing. The owner was super nice and gave us a tour of the property upon arrival. The breakfast in the morning was delicious - fresh cinnamon rolls, eggs and ham, yogurt, cereal, juice options, etc. The room was quiet, cozy, and clean with a comfortable bed. Would stay here again!

Cook needs to wash hands regularly

Overall, the place was quiet and pretty clean. The owner was very nice. My only real complaint is that the owner is also the cook of breakfast. While cooking, as my wife was eating food she’d cooked, the owner was observed blowing her nose in tissue. After which she continued cooking WITHOUT washing her hands. We didn’t make a fuss but refused to eat anything she cooked from that point on.

What’s not to like? The space is beautiful and it’s situated perfectly in the area. Super friendly hosts and just about the best damn breakfast you could ask for. If you’re debating a stay here, stop debating and book it.

It was an unexpected stay as the highway closed due to a winter storm. The hosts were very hospitable and friendly. It was very welcoming. The breakfast was amazing and we loved our room. I’d stay here again. Please take note this is a B&B and someone’s home that they value and work hard for everyday. There are particular rules because of that. It’s not a corporate hotel so be respectful of the individuality. Thank you for letting us stay in your home.

Mein Haus is a welcoming experience

Friendly and hospitable couple run this B&B. Comfortable reasonable priced rooms, good breakfast and exceptional service make Mein Haus a must for people who want a different experience than the standard hotel. The location is close to the free bus line to Beaver Creek or Free express bus to Vail. Amenities as guest kitchens, bathrooms in every room, ski locker guest parking and a hot tub leave you not wanting much more. Mein Haus hosts makes you feels like you are staying with a friend versus a hotel. Definitely recommend for those wanting a more personalized experience.

Perfect B&B

Highly recommend the Mein house for anyone traveling to the Avon Colorado area or if you are just passing thru. What really makes the place special are the owners Tod and Tamara. They are very personable and make you feel welcomed like you are old friends. Both are available to answer any questions you may have about the area, and nearby areas to explore. Both make you feel very comfortable.Tamara is an amazing cook who will have breakfast ready for you each morning. Each morning the menu is different and she will also accommodate dietary requests. The place is very clean and well maintained. There are two houses and the setup is such that it works well for solo travelers, couples, friends or families. Well equipped with a guest kitchen for those that want to cook or store food, pool table, sitting rooms with tv's, books, games etc. Very relaxing.

Upon our arrival, my husband went in to register only to return to the car saying I had to come in, too, to go to the “check in room”. We should’ve done a U-Turn and checked out that very moment b/c the weirdness continued to escalate. Taped to the front windows are drawings of hand guns reading that they’re high speed wireless protection and then a drawing of a mask saying they couldnt be worn inside unless it was medically indicated. Once inside the front door we were issued a pair of Crocs to wear leaving our shoes in the entry. That was so gross! How many toe fungal feet had been in those shoes before ours? When inside the “check in room”, I saw a screen monitoring the various surveillance cameras. We found the location of several of them but felt there were more that we didnt see. I wanted to shower with my clothes on. We spoke to each other in a whisper. At night I was so very cold. No blankets so I used 2 robes that were hanging in the closet, wrapped my feet and upper body in towels. There are Amazon size female mannequins stationed in several rooms that are kind of frightening when you enter a room and there’s a huge likeness of a woman looming. Did they have cameras in their eyes? We took advantage of his wifi using the password he gave us but quickly disengaged b/c he would be able to get into our devices. The frig was dirty on the inside. The kitchen garbage can’s flip lid was filthy. This was the most bizarre and frightening experience we’ve ever had.

Tamera and Todd were great hosts!!! We spent 3 nights and they provided an excellent atmosphere and experience for us. Breakfast was delicious!!! Everything was neat and clean. We will definitely be back!!
