"This hotel is in an excellent location and has many good amenities. It is clean and comfortable, has a nice swimming pool and a good bar. The staff are friendly and helpful and, depending on the cost, I would definitely consider staying here again."

"The room was clean and so was the communal areas. Location good for the ice rink, hence the selection of the hotel. Downside - I booked as it was advertised as budget but there are all the hidden extras. Breakfast was extra at £8.50 each and was only a two types of cold pastries, limited cereal, toast and a couple of toppings. Not worth £8.50. No kettles or tea/coffee in rooms - that you had to pay for but the hot water downstairs was complimentary which you had to carry upstairs if you wanted a drink in your room. I had to buy tea and some milk in order to have a drink in my room. No hairdryers or anything in the rooms at all. Just a bed and two thin towels. There was shower gel in the shower though. NO FREE PARKING - I had to pay £17.50 to park at the hotel for two nights. On the plus side - the room was functional, the beds were comfy and the water was hot but no room to spin a cat and the shower and sink are right next to the bed. So whilst it's advertised at budget, all the extras I had to pay for made it not budget at all and wished I'd booked at the Premier Inn opposite."

"Room is a good size, clean and has air conditioning (though it's not easy to get it to cool the room). Shower and bathroom are both well appointed but the bed was a bit soft and sunk in the middle. I received a message from the hotel before arriving letting me know where the car park was and that the overnight fee agreed with the car park company would be £9 for 24 hours, however on leaving I was charged £11. Not a huge difference but might be worth updating your records as some people will likely complain about the difference (I arrived at the car park at around 11:30am and left the next morning by 09:30am so less than 24 hours)."

"The hotel is clean and the staff so attentive however a little disappointed on arrival we couldn’t make use of the roof top bar due to a private function which would have been useful to learn prior. The hotel is superb and in a unique position for the centre albeit breakfast was a little chaotic"

"Lovely property, nice rooms and good facilities for kids. Swimming pool, games room and outside tennis and football court. Good selection of food in the restaurants and at breakfast."

Palace Hotel & Spa Buxton

"Had an overnight stay on a short visit to Buxton. The hotel is ideally located and had parking at a reasonable cost. Close to town centre etc. As it was only a quick stop we went for one of the cheaper rooms. It was a good sized double with large bathroom and tea/ facilities and biscuits, obviously didn’t have much of a view as it was a lower priced room. Breakfast was included in the cost and was very good plenty to choose from and freshly cooked. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Would certainly use the hotel again."
